What relevance does that have to the thread?
He’s one of those self-hating runners who loves to talk about how running isn’t an actual sport and makes little to no money
Yeah, well Adrian said Rocky couldn't beat Ivan Drago, too.
How did that turn out!?!?!

Baloney. Salami.
In top shape, Kenny B has a chance to beat Kipchoge.
But he's been injured on and off since 2010. It's been a rough road. Sadly, not being able to run London might dash Bekele's chances of running in the Olympics next year.
These top young Ethiopians in London will make things interesting, right?
I'm not surprised that Bekele isn't running. The recent past makes that an easy prediction. But I'd like to opine that Bekele should, if he wants, be picked to run the Olympic marathon (if they ever happen). As I recall, either one or two Ethiopian runners dropped out in Rio and that just made it apparent that Bekele should've been given a chance to run in that race. If anybody can rise to the occasion and surprise everyone, it's Bekele. With his legacy as the GOAT distance runner, I'm guessing that the Olympics would motivate him to turn out in prime condition - and if Kipchoge is also running, it would finally give us the race we've been looking for. If Ethiopia picks other runners, we"ll always be wondering "What if?"
He already has an inconsistent history of 26.2 with many defeats (including 4 to Kipchoge). Why on earth would he be scared? Hi legacy status as GOAT is already cemented. This would only add to it if he ran well

Agreed. And it would be silly of him to further an injury and risk his buildup for Tokyo
Who are you????
"Footballers"???? You must be Euro Football wannabe who can't find a "Footballer" website to post your senseless comments.
Off you go..........and Go Run One!!!
I wonder how much money Bekele lost by not taking part, surely there must have been a clause in the contract that should he not take part he would lose a large % of the pay packet!?

No, stop being immature. You think a guy who can run as fast as Bekele is mentally weak? Why would he be scared of someone he knows he can beat.
