Hey, I am a junior in Highschool and I have been running XC and track for the past couple years.
I am more of a 'middle distance' runner than a 5k distance runner. I am pretty okay at the 5k but I have found my sweet spot around the 800m distance.
I have good speed for a distance runner (fastest on the distance team and decent within the sprinters).
I want to try and aim for sub 2 in the 800 this year which I think is doable with my ability.
I can probably run around a 56-7 in the 400 right now with very minimal speed work.
I just need some advice for what the best direction to take my training is. Need advice for good weekly mileage, good speed workouts, and some good lifts to do.
