I think Poore moved out of the country. I think he is in Somalia (sp?). Does that sound like something someone from Davis would do? Just kidding Davis people, I only live a few miles from there in Natomas.

Trackhead,
Where are you at? I thought you were down south?
Was Poore a runner to be named later in the trade for Khalid Abdalla?
Send a guy to Somalia, and get a guy from Somalia!
So JAK, are you and the other Davis distance guys bustin out the speed suits for Stanford?
Nope- grew up in the South Bay Area and moved to SF for college. Came out here a little over 4 years ago. Did you run the NorCal 10 as planned? If so, how'd you do?
Miles and Miles,
I'm about half and half. About half the year I'm in the Bay Area (hometown) and the other half I'm the SD area.
I'm actually a current employee of Hoy's and a store in SD county. And, when at home, I run for Hoy's at any local roadrace I might be doing. Last year I ran Hook & Ladder for Hoy's.
I heard at practice today that I was mentioned on this message board, so I thought I would come check it out. The two things I have to say is:
1) Captain Morgan....SHUT UP! it would not bother me if you dont talk to me or about me for I do the same for you. Thanks.
2) The speedsuit is due at Mt. Sac. Be patient. Hopefully I can convinvce some teamates to wear them also.
3) Why dont more people wear speedsuts in the 1500?
Love,
JAX
You never turned in your grey issues! Plus, the jock you turned in was overly soiled, and Hickey Joe had to shake it out 4 times before the poop fell out. We almost had to rinse it. God forbid we'd have to use pink soap. Well, I don't like to get involved in this sort of inter-team thing, but I will have to say you owe us 3 dollars while Jak ruined a 40 dollar uniform by washing it with red colored clothes. So who's the better in that regard? You still owe us punk.
Ooops, sorry about that one Hickey Steve. You know what that DC food can do to your system. I must of just lost control running past the rancid smells by Tercero at the end of sheep dick. What are ya gonna do? Must be why we were going to put UCD Cross Country Two thousand and DUECE on our shirts, ehh. Anyways Ill put a check in the mail, im including an extra 75 cents for the hickey greys. Its nice to have them around when im on a long run and the DC food hits me here.
Your dearest ex-teammate,
Captain... Duece?
PA - Not a trade for Kalid, but I do think that Poore might have hung around him a bit too much and that lead to his going to Somalia to teach, ha Poore is actually a British citizen (not American, which I didn't know until he told me), so he all over the place. I think he even went to the town that Kalid is from. PA by the way where are you at?
Runnerbabe - I didn't end up doing the Norcal 10M. I was a bit too injuried. I did do the downhill version of the Across/Around The Bay 12K and it went pretty well, well at least my leg didn't fall off and that's a good thing, ha. What about you, get any racing in lately?
Is there some kind of weird UCD inside thing going on in this thread that I am not following? I went to the evil arch rival school so I can't relate. OK I guess we wern't really good enough in track to be an evil arch rival and we were even Div. I, go figure, ha.
sorry about the injury but glad the 12k went OK. No racing for me since the Stampede but am doing a very small 5k next week as a last tune up for my first track meet of the season on April 13th. Am looking forward to getting the racing shoes back on!
OK spill it what's the 5K road race? Is it Heartbeat in Davis? What track meet are you doing the following weekend? I was going to do the one at Stanislaus, but the 5000 conflicts with my daughter's T-Ball game, much rather see the game and I am assitant coach, ha. I haven't heard if Bruce Hamilton (Berkeley) is going to have a men's 5000, talked to the coach and they are not sure if it will be a 5000 or a 3000. If it is a 3, there is no way. I don't have that kind of leg speed right now (well not in the last several years anyways, ha). It would probably conflict with the T-ball game too anyways. I might jump in a small road 5K that morning (12th).
Anyone know of any decent races on April 12th in Northern CA? I am looking for a GOOD 5K. It would have to be in the morning or the evening, because I have the previously mentioned T-Ball game to attend in Sac at 1:45. The only thing I have found so far is the Run/Walk for Hope 5K in Sacto. Not even sure if that is certified. Thanks.
Don't know about 5k's but I know there is a decent 10K somewhere around there on the 13th. Some place called Cupertino.....
I wish it were that easy. I am not doing the HP 10K, because it is within 2 weeks of the marathon and just don't want to race that far that close again. Plus my wife is making her team re-debut at that race, someone's got to handle the kids. We don't race the same races much. Hinderloppet, I noticed you didn't comment much on the other 101 stories site, ha. Sorry about that.
Miles-
I tell you what, I will come down and watch the kids while you and your wife race. I can't guarantee we won't get in trouble, but I am sure that parking lot behind the building where they have the awards would be great place to play t-ball, except of course, no sliding. And it is a great race to run with a chance to win a Mary Kay Basket. Their men's after shave is to die for. (just kidding)
I gather I must be boring. Nobody posted any stories about me. I thought it was an internet faupaux to commment on a thread about oneself. Best story I could ever come up with is the time I sat naked with 15 other finns and Lasse Viren in Viren's Sauna. When I got home, some people doubted I met Viren, and I replied...."Trust me, I saw all of him".
Yep, Heartbeat. The meet is the Sacramento Masters Classic. (Remember, I'm over 40!) Not sure what I'm running but probably the 1500 and 800 and may throw in 400 for good measure (there are no heats and plenty of recovery time in between) Mainly just want to see where I'm at and improve upon things as the season progresses. Would like to jump in a couple of college invites but we'll see...
To the HorseCow guys, you ran some decent times at Stanford. Too bad you got seriously rolled by a couple of UCSD alums in the 5k.
Former Davis runner, now in Boulder? You would not happen to be the toughest distance runner ever to come out come out of UC Davis: JOHN BARRETT!!! (29:20, All-American, 100% pure heart, 0% natural talent, couldn't break 60 in the quarter)
