Just curious if there is anyone in my area, for my own selfish reasons, ha.

Yep.
Yep...
Might be.......soon.
ummm, I think so...
For my own selfish reasons, how do the Northern CAns like the weather in regards to training? I was in the area one summer and found the temp. not bad at all, even midday, with the dry air, espeically compared the humidity of the Eastern states' summers. I would also venture to guess that the other seasons are great weather for training, too.
My hunch is that the Bay Area may be one of the top readers of this site. Only the engineers will know.
i'm from the central coast in CA. the weather here in the bay are is perfect to train.
woops i meant to say bay area
i'm in the bay area.
the weather here is very nice. 60's and sunny. actually, i prefer foggy overcast days for running, but this i'm not complaining about our weather. it doesn't seem that dry to me, but that could just be because i was born and raised here. winter, spring, and fall over here are very nice for running - especially on the trails. i don't mind slightly muddy trails. the rain only downpours for a couple of weeks. doesn't ever keep me locked up indoors.
Me, too
Yup...Petaluma here...by way of Boston
anyone heading out to stanford for this weekend's track fix?
Well this turned into a real exciting thread, yeah right. How about telling everyone where in No Cal you are? I am in Sacramento. By the way the temps here in during the summer can reach 112. But I can train outdoors year round, so it is great compared to the snow or something.
Hinderloppet, when did you say your moving to No. Cal? Is that still the plan?
Miles and Miles,
I used to live in the Bay Area, and that is when I was at my peak runningwise. I miss the weather and the great running atmosphere the Bay Area has. Unless you've lived there and then elsewhere, you don't know the difference.
I've run the CIM twice, but I've never trained in Sacramento. Seems to damn hot in the summer to me.
Anyway, lots of great things about California, and I miss it immensely.
I'm in between n. CA and s. CA ( san joaquin valley) would that count?
Chico has a pretty sweet training environment.. although June and July are a bit warm!
Grew up in the Bay Area.
Went to UC Davis and have been in the valley ever since.
I was one of the early WVTC'ers (early 70's).
Now live in El Dorado Hills.
Great training although I do not run in the middle of the day. Like you I job, family, and young son.
My only training is what I can fit in prior to work (sound familar?) and even weekends is a chore with all our family activities.
Mike,
Former WVTCer? In El Dorado Hills? When are you joining back up? Our Master's team could use the help, ha.
Oh I know about family activities. The latest and greatest is my daugther's T-ball. The coach was a no show for the last practice, no call no nothing. I love busting my ass to show up on time and he doesn't even call to say he isn't going to be there. We are going to have Saturday games and I am trying squeeze in a race on April 12th for my final pre-marathon race and it isn't easy to find something decent.
I have been thinking about it.
I have been easing back into racing the last two years.
I will probably make a commitment later this year and would come back although my old black and white WVTC jersey is a bit dated.
Thanks for the encouragement. Good luck in KY.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
