Seth DeMoor's Golden Trail Series FKT Goes Down Just Two Days Later!!

I agree that it looks very bad for Sage. Why would he help and encourage another runner to get Seth's FKT and rob him from a well deserved prize? From Joe's Strava:Big ups to Sage for helping show me some of the route today as it was my first go here and I would have surely gotten lost. well yeah, that's why I said "mostly". There are some routes that have been rather popular for even longer, but also a lot of crap.

Joe is probably telling the truth. . Seth’s time just isn’t that good. Joe is probably in much worse shape than normal race scenarios.

In Sage's defense Joe is a Hoka team mate so it makes sense he would help him. That being said I do think there is an unspoken rivalry between Sage and Seth, both of them being known mountain runners and two of the biggest YouTubers in their niche.

I'd honestly never heard of Seth until Pikes Peak the other week.

I wish we had Brian Sell still providing commentary. I've titled a couple runs the exact same - "Doing Stupid Things Out of Shape" and pushing myself past my fitness. Joe's an honest guy and is telling it like it is, nothing else. Y'all are just triggered that he's a BOSS. He's the GOAT American Trail/Mountain champ with nothing else to prove and doesn't need to justify anything to anyone at this point. And Sage helping is what should be done. I've always asked the trail community for navigation clarity on some big runs in the mountains. It's natural in this sport, like in college where the freshman follow the upperclassmen learning the ropes and courses. Watch some of Cooper Teare's videos and you'll understand.

I think what's a bummer is that 95% of the people on this thread don't compete any more, especially in Trail/Mountain and so have no perspective other than their sedentary lifestyles.

Seriously though Sage is the worst. Not only the whole Matt Carpenter thing but he recently was going in on Joey Campanelli’s Nolan’s FKT on Irunfar.

Sage is completely bitter and washed up.

Seth may not beat Grays time but I bet he will make another attempt but not announce it to anyone.

I will be rooting for Seth to take down this FKT or another one to get a ticket to the Azores.

He has a family to support. Can't support Sage in this time of contagion because he and Sandi are most likely living in vegan sin.

I don’t care that Sage helped a teammate take down a FKT from a rival You-tuber. I do think he hears the noise in virtual world and feels threatened a bit though. Much as he did when he was throwing out innuendos about Walmsley when Walmsley was taking the mantle on the Hoka team as the premier American ultra runner on the team. I actually feel kind of sad for Sage. Instead of going out and taking a crack at the FKT himself, he’s become a domestique.

Most times Sage usually chimes in? Must be a shame for his actions. Gray looks like an alien, I'm just being honest and transparent. Doesn't feel good, does it? Both guys (comments/action this year) have that victim mentality and full of themselves. They use a play on words to justify their rude behavior and actions. Gray must have taken a lot of heat knowing Seth came within seconds of last year's accent time and still finished the marathon. btw...Sage will probably never marry and have kids, it's against the new religion, he rather complain and travel first class like the hypocrite he is. Message....get over yourselves, Gray and Sage!

Agree. Gray is on a different level than Seth. Seth can climb at high altitude very well but Gray is just flat out better. No shame for Seth.

The any surface any distance thing is not working anymore, he is not succeding in anything at all, Walmsley got a decent time in the olympic trials and proved he is the top trail runner in the states winning Western States twice, Kilian is not only the best trail runner in the world but is trying something new with short distances and might get a good result in his next 10k race, Seth won the Pikes Peak Marathon and got a better time than Sage last year, soon Seth will set a better marathon time than Sage in the past years....

Sage is so lame that he claims his personal best in marathon is 2:16:52 at 2011 Rock 'n' Roll San Diego Marathon which is not a USATF certified course

I ran with Joe a couple times when he used to live here in the PNW and he is not the type of person who would say he's out of shape unless he actually is.

One thing that bothers me is that Joe says Sage helped because he didn't want to get lost. Exact same thing Sage wrote, he helped Joe "so he didn't get lost."

But....what about PACING? They both omit that part and instead are being cute with 'just didn't want to get lost." I find that disingenuous. It was a paced run.

Bottom line, that's not a solo effort.
