IMO the US also needs term limits on the Congress, maybe 4 years all around.
I have always though the ideal would be something like 18 years where each president gets to assign 2 people. Pretty much anyone from 50-65 would be a legit choice as they would likely live out their term. Right now it is only a matter of time till we start nominating law school grads so they can serve for 60 years......
For jobs without lifetime appointments, the arguements for term limits is much weaker.

As I've said on here before, LOL at people throwing around the term "incel" as if it is supposed to be a personal insult. This is straight up victim blaming and gaslighting and I don't feel even a little bit insulted by it. Our society is sick, and this has resulted in the rise of a whole class of men who do not have access to sexual resources. Instead of looking at our culture and realizing that things need to change, you blame the people who are bearing the brunt of the cultural rot.
Do you go around throwing insults at people who are unemployed as a result of the COVID economy? Basically the same idea.
Incel status confirmed ^
Good detective work. You've managed to "confirm" something about me that I have openly acknowledged from my very first post on LR.

Nah they opposed him because of the manner in which he was nominated , plain & simple. This one’s on McConnell. Although McConnell is very good tactically I think he’s over playing the average American. They see him not giving Obamas nominee a vote 10 months out I’m giving Trump a vote 1 1/2 months out. It just looks bad to everyone
Everyone? No. It would look great to Trump supporters. They absolutely LOVE this kind of hypocrisy. Otherwise, they would never vote for him.
If Moscow Mitch pushes Trump nominee through the lame duck Senate, they will cheer him as a "fighter." And they will laugh at libs as losers and suckers. That's all they want: owning the libs.
It changed when the democrats went after Kavanaugh the way they did. That was disgraceful. The extremes they went through against Kavanaugh made republicans realize that Democrats are not acting in good faith and that they will do everything possible to prevent any republican from ever getting another supreme court pick.
Most people would agree that the #me too movement died because of the insanity of the democrats during the kavanaugh hearing.

Not just the Kavanaugh hearing. Democrats have always acted in bad faith in recent (last 40 years). Look what they did to Robert Bork. Look what they did to Clarence Thomas. Dems are as ruthless as can be. Gorsuch was unanimously confirmed to the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. When he was nominated for the Supreme Court, all those Dems who had confirmed him earlier reversed themselves and we was confirmed by a narrow margin. Again, Dems don't play fair.

Can we assume that Turtle McConnell will insist on waiting until after the election to consider a replacement?
This could get very nasty if he insists on having a potential nominee voted on. Very nasty.
I find it humorous that anyone is all of the sudden caring about nastiness. I think the Kavanaugh nomination was pretty nasty.
In a subject actually related to the main theme of LetsRun, health and physical fitness.
My amateur opinion is that RBG's exercise regimen probably extended her lifespan, getting her through multiple serious illnesses over the last 20 years. She made it to age 87. Her mother died at age 48

no one dating you because you are a garbage person is not society's fault. You are not a victim. Geez, the large adult sons take zero responsibility for their own lives. If you want rot, you are it.

It changed when Moscow Mitch refused to give Merrick Garland a hearing. If he thought Garland was unqualified, he and his fellow Republicans should have voted him down. But they were too timid to do that.
RBG served to the best of her ability. But her stance on abortion was immoral. Now she faces her Maker and has to explain why she supported 30 million abortions. There will be no resting in peace for her and that is the saddest thing in the world.
Truth is truth...no matter how much the rest of you posters want to mock me.

What was so nasty about it? He had significant personal financial vulnerabilities and a credible accusation of sexual assault against him. He wasn't applying for a job at Starbucks. Don't be such a naive little crybaby. This country needs to toughen the eff up.
Open your eyes and ears.... There was not a credible witness or victim of sexual misconduct. The person wasn't even sure of when and where it happened. She was pressured and paid to lie.

I don't think the Kavanaugh hearings put the end to #metoo. As far as insanity goes, BLM has shown you can actually go out and trash neighborhoods and loot businesses and still be applauded by Democrats and the media.
It was the rise of BLM that pushed #metoo aside -- in the grand intersectionality design, the Wokes have ranked BLM far above #metoo and there is only so much woke energy to go around for those lower on the totem pole. Example: George Floyd assaults pregnant woman with a gun, yet George Floyd is a national hero. Jacob Blake is another example with the very disturbing assault (read the police report - what a scumbag) on the mother of his child, yet he gets visited by VP candidate Harris. Does anyone doubt that #metoo and the media would be heavily criticizing those individuals (Floyd and Blake), if not for their deep affection for BLM?

Mayor Pete had Supreme Court reform in his plans. Under the plan, most justices would continue serving life terms. Five would be affiliated with the Republican Party and five with the Democratic Party. Those 10 would then join together to choose five additional justices from U.S. appeals courts, or possibly the district-level trial courts. They’d have to settle on the nonpolitical justices unanimously — or at least with a “strong supermajority.”
They final five would serve one-year, nonrenewable terms. They’d be chosen two years in advance, to prevent nominations based on anticipated court cases, and if the 10 partisan justices couldn’t agree on the final five, the Supreme Court would be deemed to lack a quorum and couldn’t hear cases that term.
Seems complicated.
You religious sickos love fetuses until the minute they're born, then you couldn't care less. That makes you beneath contempt. The real death cult is the one you're a part of, sicko.

I've explained on LR multiple times why a man doesn't have to be a "garbage person" in order to not have intimacy available, but I know it's easier for you to spew hate toward someone you consider to be undesirable than it is for you to consider someone else's perspective for a moment.
Hey weirdo, nobody owes you sexual intimacy. There are reasons for prostitutes and for masturbation, goofball. Besides, if murderers can find women while imprisoned for life, you can too. Figure it out, but NOBODY wants to hear weirdos like you complain about your inabilities to find someone to get your rocks off for you.

We want all babies to have a chance to live. If mom doesn't want the baby there are plenty of people waiting in line to adopt...no kill the baby instead.... Who is the sicko here.

Which is worse. A women having an abortion. Or a man forcibly removing a women's uterus?
What will Trump tell his Maker before being sent to Hell?
