There goes the jobs for all sprint coaches
Go ahead and ask Usain Bolt how he got so fast.
Do you think his answer will more likely be:
1. "My coach made me able to run 9.5x."
Or
2. "My parents"
Now, ask his youth coaches. Horrible at practice, practical joker, never serious, never showed up, never practiced preferring to play cricket and soccer instead. Still got to go to youth world's & junior world's breaking records easily....in the 200 .....pretty good at 400 too but no records
Went pro and no coach wanted to coach him at 100 meters. Only Bolt himself wanted to do the 100 while his "coaches" thought he should stick to 200-400 and refused to enter him in 100s.
In 2007 he finally got to run a 100. He ran 10.03 first time ever.
By his fifth 100 ever, he broke the world record with 9.71.
His coach still called him "lazy" for not running 400s anymore! ...2008!
Despite "coach" Bolt broke the WR in 2008 and again in 2009 but never got faster afterwards despite winning practically everything he entered (lost to Gay and Powell, once each)
So.
Bolt discovered his 100 talent on his own, broke a wr five races later without "approval" or training from his "coach"
...Then, once "coach" takes notice of these WRs and Oly wins, decides to "coach" him at 100 meters, but then Bolt never goes faster again.
Gid given talent. That's all.
