hey guys,
I'm time trialing an 8k solo on Saturday morning. I ran 15:26 for 5k at the end of the summer and tempoed 28:23 8k last week. Would it be reasonable to say I could run sub 27? also any tips for the 8k?

If you ran 15:26 for 5K recently you definitely can break 27. Is anyone helping you pace at all or is this solo? If you're doing this alone, best thing to do is go out between 5:20-5:30 pace and then even-neg split. Running sub 5 for 3 miles definitely shows that 5:20's should feel "comfortable" and you can just pick up the pace later. Don't go out at 5K pace and try to hold on; that is a valiant effort that only usually works with competition around you. Even if it was just an even split race of 5:20, you'd run 26:40
