Kevin got a runner on the India trip last year at the last minute because they needed a 5th runner on the team. That athlete was the only one who had a passport and the fitness to run. This all happened on the last possible day of someone getting on the team. His time was 1:05 something for the half. He ended up being the 4th man on the team in India, only being behind the next two guys by about 5 seconds or less. Poor performances by all but Young at that race.
The Hansons will have one guy on the team as it stands. There has been no talk of anyone other than Mike Morgan who ran what would workout to a 1:01.11 20k at Houston when he ran 1:04.48. That would put him on the team in front of Hartman and Downin who ran 1:01.15 and 1:01.17. Both of those guys could have easily ran faster had they chose to at the 20k, they probably didn't see this scenario up the road though.
The team will more than likely be Jason L., Abdi, Shay, Mike M. and Jason H..
The Houston course is fast but it will probably be put on an even level as the 20k. That being said, Lane will not run, it appears Matt G. won't run, possibly Young will though.
I do not believe that the very fast Austin Course will be used as an even to Houston or the 20k.
