It's not impressive. I've seen lots of average looking people running 18 minutes or less. A runner at my club is 60 and still does parkrun in 18 minutes.

I could bench press close to 300 pounds at the same time I was running sub 4:00 1500s and 15:00 5ks.
You dug up an article that five years old. What does your article have to do specifically with (35 to 40) year old A.A.V.s? If D.o.D., U.S.N. & U.S.M.C. made a decision to get rid of U.S.M.C.'s tanks, don't you agree U.S.M.C. should have elite amphibious troop transport fighting vehicles? Five years ago when that article was written, U.S.M.C. still had tanks and A.A.V.s were functioning okay.

ive been a runner most my life and just recently gained a lot of muscle mass. right now i'm 5'11" 185 and ran a 3 mile tempo in 16.50 the other day. not too hard if you have 25 years of base.
What’s interesting though is that Ryan Hall and Nick Symmonds can’t, with all their running background, though. They did a TT together and finished I believe in the mid—18s. They are more focused on muscle mass now, but RH had an INCREDIBLE base.
They were laughing and chit chatting during that time trial. Not a balls to the walls effort...
Definitely possible. I used to run with a div I 800 guy who got into lifting after college. He was about 200 lbs of all muscle and could run 5k in just under 17. The guy in the video actually looks a bit smaller. It really depends on whether they are running consistently. If they are going out every morning for a 5-6 mi run with a lot of 7:XX miles, then it wouldn't be that big of a deal for a 18 min 3 mile. I would be less inclined to believe it if they are just doing an occasional workout on the track but no daily miles.
How many boxes of Kleenex went into the trash over this fine Labor Day weekend, Bart?
Intervals are the best way to improve as a beginner runner. Sure, you'll plateau without a base supposedly, but where that plateau is nobody really knows. The average person can probably meet most of their running goals (sub 6 mile, sub 20 5k) way faster using intervals then easy running.
Dear "oh say can you see,"
If you aren't happy with you, that's on YOU. If you assume other people are narcissists, that's on YOU. A good starting point to figuring out why we make negative assumptions about others is to realize we are usually projecting. Start there. Learn to love YOU. Because no one else ever will, you underweight, slow, scumbag. Love always <3
Sincerely,
The guy she told you not to worry about

So when did you start that base? 10? 15? Older? So at 35 or older you gained a lot of muscle mass. What are you using?
whenever i see something about a fat person in the military running slower than a 7 year old, i know it's bart doing his thing.
