imagine if Serena had done this!
There would be a high stakes lynching.
My first thought was that if Serena had done this, they would have crucified her.
At least when Serena had her outbursts it was only verbal abuse and the only casualty was her racket. When trying to argue her case she never asked for special treatment due to her stature.

Fair or foul? He clearly didn't mean to hit her
Rojo once again venturing into a subject he knows nothing about.
This is clear. DQ, possible suspension, loss of points. Right before he hit the woman, he hit another ball in the same fashion and nearly clipped a camera man.
Stay in your lane bro'.
I'm confused...my post calling him a 'thug' was erased...on what grounds?
'Thug' is very clearly a term that this website is ok with being applied to athletes, just do a search it shows up hundreds of times.
But here I call this athlete a thug, after he PHYSICALLY ASSAULTED a senior citizen with a HIGH-SPEED PROJECTILE.......and it gets erased.
Assaulting old ladies.....does it get any more thuggish than that?
Was this the knock-out game sweeping the country that I hear so much about? ? ?
It's great to hear that most people never make mistakes. If it's unintentional, it's a mistake. He obviously didn't intend to hit anyone. The 'rules are rules' people who only see black and white, never gray are the very people who are obsessed with political correctness. Life is chaotic and unpredictable. Use common sense to deal with it, not a rigid set of laws or rules.
He's out because of the rules. End of story.

90% chance this guy excuses police violence when people don't follow the rules tho

Sports are all about rules. Djokovic broke them and the rule said he had to be defaulted from the match. Anyone else would be treated the same - and are. Happened to Nalbandian (Wimbledon finalist) a few years back.

I hear ya, and the fact that hitting the woman was clearly an accident will be taken into account in any decision to assess additional penalties (i.e., he probably won't get any more than has already been announced). But he didn't mistakenly hit the ball behind him without looking. Hitting the woman was an accident, but hitting the ball was not. You can't have players doing this because of the obvious danger of inadvertantly hitting someone, as was shown today. Same reason they can't chuck their rackets.
The rules are clear and he isn’t the first to be DQ’d. The only surprising thing was it took so long to come to a ruling, though the referee in an interview afterwards said he wanted to make sure he had all the facts before ruling as the e consequences were major. And to those saying they don’t like him, they wanted him in the tournament and weren’t happy they had to bounce him.
What about a false start? I mean they don’t do it on purpose but if they do they are gone.
I wasn’t a huge fan of his but became one after he spent 2-3 hrs on the phone trying to get a competitor permission to play after exposure to Covid . He did this on a day when he was playing a match later in the day.
A little late to the party huh Rojo? Already a couple of threads on this.
Try to keep up.

Williams told the lineswoman she was going to "ram the ball down your f*cking throat". The lineswoman ran to the chair saying her life was bring threatened. Nice.
And Djokovic did apologize.

Let's not make excuses for his aggressive behavior. White on white crime is not okay.
figures you'd be on here defending the white guy. where's coevett??

Intent is irrelevant.
Any ball hit in anger that hits an official or ballkid is a DQ. Doesn't matter if you were aiming at them or not.

It wasn't a "crime". Nor was it aggressive, as he wasn't aiming for anybody. It was a breach of the rules of the sport. It had nothing to do with what he intended or didn't intend. But I don't expect you know the first thing about tennis.

When I have argued against those trying to justify the killings of George Floyd and Ahmaud Arbery, and the shooting of Jacob Blake? I would generously suggest you haven't been paying attention than that you are outright stupid.
If it was a man that got hit he would have shrugged it off and the day would continue as usual.
