Someone I was in halls with did the same thing, she didn't wash her sheets and duvet cover plus pillow cover for the entire semester, it is rank and didn't make sense as there were about 5 washing machines on site that cost less about £1.20. She wasn't poor. Her room smelt.
lol. i would guess 80% of college students don't wash the whole semester.
Hey, I'm not judging as there can be different reasons for not doing it in a timely manner, but a WHOLE semester?! Doesn't it feel terrible against your skin?
The longest I've gone is three weeks. If I've sweated through the night then I have to wash them immediately.
People wash their sheets?
That’s very reasonable I really can not imagine not washing them for a semester. I was guessing would it be like 4 weeks at most, on average every other week but never in a semester is kind of extreme.
I don't wash them, I just buy new ones every semester.
It has been at least six months. Maybe eight. Lol. Gang.

I think this is right. I definitely went a full semester in without washing my sheets in college.
And went over half a year at some point. (Though I probably spent less than 3/4 of the nights in that bed at the time -- which also gave it more of a chance to "air out".)
These days I wash them about once every month. What's reasonable depends a lot on how much you sweat in your sleep and when you shower during the day.
In college I'd go the entire year without washing my sheets. When I moved out for the summer I just threw them in the garbage and bought a new set before going back to school.

Why not just spend like a few bucks surplus over the course of the year over your normal laundry, washing them with your other clothes? lol
But yeah I've gone maybe two months during a semester?

My freshman year of college I lived off campus the whole year. I went with the same sheets until my girlfriend (now wife) walked in one day and asked how long it had been since I changed the sheets. When I answered never, she washed them for me. We got married the next year. I don't recall what month she asked, but I'm guessing like half a year +/-.
7 months
I went 4 years without washing my sheets. When I finished school and got a career, I used the same sheets for two more years. Eventually they became worn , and see through, so I bought new ones. I saved the sheets in a box in the closet, just in case I ever needed them again. Thats where they remained for five more years. Good thing I saved them, when the COVID-19 hit I was ready. I pulled out those sheets and started cutting them up to make masks. Sold them on the street making about a thousand dollars. I received lots of compliments about the masks--most being about how thin the fabric on the masks were--making it easier for them to breathe.
When asked where I got the fabric, I told them. Most people thought it was a great way to re-purpose old sheets.

I am more of a minimalist.

You sir are an American hero. Anyone who survives your sheet masks will have the immune system strength to crush Covid.

don't forget f@cking habits/frequency. probably the most important factor.
A better question would be how long have I owned the sheets.
I usually wash every three weeks. Exception is after your girlfriend visits me. It’s a wet sticky mess so I have her do the laundry before she leaves.
A week and I have 3 different sets so I rotate...clean sheets is a great feeling
