Seth is a great climber. Let’s see if he can hold his own on the downhills, which isn’t his strong suit.

One of the very best mountain climbers in the world!

SJD in first at the top. I think it is 2:09:15ish. Clock was 2:10:15, but he started 58 secs after the women.
SJD leading by 8 minutes at the half.
All that fast road running paying off! A man possessed. I think he gained lots of confidence the past year and was chomping at the bit to make his mark. Still anything can happen.

Appears 2nd place at the summit was 22yr-old Jeshurun Small. He appeared to cross the timing mat at the summit in the reverse order, and did not take any of the aid station fluids, whereas, SJD took two cups.

It was primarily that FKT work over the summer, but really, the whole package of training, including recovery (insights, etc.) that he lets his viewers in on through his daily VLOG.
Unofficial "clock" times for top 3:
DeMoor 2:10:15
Sinclair 2:17:13
Wacker 2:18:55
The runners just behind Seth apparently started in a later wave, so his lead is not what it seems.
Agree it’s the package of training. Perhaps the road running was that missing piece of the puzzle though since I believe he was pretty much mountain focused for a few years prior to 2019.

I was just about to correct my previous post. Sinclair is wearing bib 51, and it first appeared to me like Small's bib 57.
Matt Carpenter will be coming out of retirement when he turns 60 to attempt to break his own ascent and PPM record. Jim Walmsley would like to race Matt without masks.

Correction: Sinclair (#51) was around 2:17:33.

For the most epic mountain race in the states in 2020?
irunfar.com didn't cover, or even mention, Courtney Dauwalter's Colorado Trail FKT attempt, either.
Nike sponsored Tayte Pollmann in 4th...I think he was in the 2nd (or 3rd wave).
It remains to be confirmed SJD set an Ascent course record for 35-40 age group!
I'm envious of all the runners for actually racing in a race.
walmsley is hot on seth's heels on the descent on his sunday training run
Did the top 3 men start at the same time?
Finish line announcer just announced DeMoor still in the lead at one of the checkpoints.
Here is the stream with sound that will show the finish and has the finish line announcer.

Yes.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
