I really only look at my watch when doing workouts, and for that I use Time/Distance/Lap Time (the lap time being). Most of my reps are short enough that I don't need the Pace feature on.

FR645 using BigNum combo data field where I have 8 fields.
Use in prioritised order HR, lap time or total time, cadence, current pace, total dist, lap distance, lap pace.
On page 2 I have combo running power but very seldom use it. Too dependent on pace which is too inaccurate and again depend on elevation which is all too inaccurate based on the altimeter.

Along with a 1 mile auto split which I will turn off when I am doing long reps or thresholds.
I try to not to caught up in the pace during the thresholds (Go By feel). Even though I know with all three fields I will have a pretty good idea of where I am overall pace wise.
