Anything you ask, honeybunch.
Seems like ancient times, no instagram or Tiktok videos to announce your achievements ...Jorge at Fairview for fun before he went to worlds to run the 10k. 60, 60, 59, 59. But there were no rails, the edge of his trainers might have hit the line?
Re: ?... thx for your input, many of us feel sick because of your lack of understanding.
Oh, I understand alright. A bit more than you may think.
After 48 years of running and racing both domestically and intentionally, I have seen and learned a thing or two. I have also developed realistic and pragmatic understanding of our sport. So listen up kiddo...
Carbon plates have been around about since the early to mid 1990s. First in Reeboks (graphite Road shoes) then thereafter in the late 1990s in Adidas with their ProPlate racing flats (although that Adidas version was incredibly stiff). I ran in the Reebok version for a little while in 1993 or1994, but the fit interfered with my orthotics.
BTW, were you even born yet when plates they were first widely used? Probably not. Even if you were you certainly had not been ready been competitively running for 20 years.
The midsole technology has also continued to develop since I started running cross country and track in 1973. I am pretty sure, junior, you would not have enjoyed what we had to run in back then.
The world changes. Shoes, tracks (sorry, no more cinders to run on), other equipment, and nutritional supplements have all contributed to faster times.
What I also clearly understand is the final word is World Athletics has determined that the 4% Next%, and Alphafly all meet their standards/limits and are therefore are legal for record setting purposes.
End of discussion. If you wish to be a Luddite feel free to do so. But please, quit your whining.
Boomer out....
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
