Nice to hear from you, AJ! Sounds like all is well. Indeed, training through the Alabama summer would be quite unpleasant. All the best to you, my friend.
Some big news for me...
I will be racing in a 5k next week. Yes, a REAL race. It will feature a wave start and the venue is down in the swamp (at the beach) where I will be on vacay. I am sure AJ and Sub 6:00 know what I am talking about. I have raced this one before...won the master’s in it last year. The start backs up against a bog, and I have never sweated so much in a 5k. In any case, I am both excited and nervous, since I have not raced n a while, and am not sure where I stand. We will see. Just did this in a prep session this morning...
5.5 at 6:29 overall...7:11 and 6:58 to warm up and then 6:11, 6:04, 5:48, with 3:29 in a little half-mile cooldown. It felt pretty good. High humidity.
So, I head to the beach this weekend, and then the midweek 5k from THE SWAMP.
All the best, boys and girls...
