Here's to hoping Grant, Sean & Evan can find another super-fast 5k to race in later this summer.
Great 5k openers for themselves last week --- pace thru 4k was 13:25 and they finished in 13:11 - 13:12 with 55-56 last laps- and now perfect pacing tonight.
One has to wonder just how close these three are now to sub-13 if they had perfect weather and went out at 13:10 pace? Maybe Jerry will set up something for them next month or September with Mo & Lopez rabbiting again.
For sure the three guys you mention could run faster based on what we saw them do a couple of weeks ago and now, but to who’s benefit?
Realistically, the benefits from their recent altitude training camp will be lost by August, unless they return quickly to altitude, and another month or two is a long time out to hold a peak which may come in a matter of a week or two.
Maybe now having been at sea level for a couple of weeks, they will run some shorter distance races in the coming weeks to see how their training has been going for those distances as well. Then take stock of it all and assess, have a break, and then get back to training for 2021.
