Meh, not me. I'd much rather have a major continental record and the 2nd fastest time ever in the world. Maybe a final in the Olympics would be even with this.
The 5k was reset because there were some questionable measurements for some 5ks no?
It's not like many are going to go faster on a road 5k. No way. What was he top 10 before the reset even with questionable measurements? True, Gebremeskel, and Gebrihwet could never go under 13:22 in Boston after multiple tries.
You actually think with current shoe technology that 13:18 will stay as the second fastest road 5k for a long time? The fact that he was 30 seconds behind Cheptegei should tell you something. Hell, Jakob tempoed a 13:29.
I would much prefer a top 10 at two World champs over a ER over a rarely run distance/surface, yes.
Lol. Ok, yeah. I believe that's 27 seconds behind Cheptegei and not 30. So basically you're a liar.
Cheptegei & Jakob are not even in the discussion here.
Yes, pretty sure that will stay 2nd for at least another year.
Right, a rarely run distance that only has 10 major events per week. Ok.
I'm taking a road 5k Euro continental record/2nd best in world vs that anytime. Would be more proud for sure. Also more lucrative. Can't see sponsors stumbling over each other to give you a 200k contract to finish 9th in the WCs.
