Good time.
Like someone said, not extraordinary for a seldom run event, but good time for him.
He would have been 4:47 in a normal race with Tim running 4:45
Only 7 secs slower than El G's wr. And what were people saying about how he could take the records from the 1500-5k?
It was 4:50 flat.
And no Timmy is not beating Jakob in a 2000. Will likely never again beat him in a 1500 either.
testing back as yet?
It was actually only 5.2x seconds slower than El G. How did you get it all the way to 7 seconds slower? You somehow managed to increase the actual difference in time by over 30% ...

Lol, hi Coevett. Jakob should figure out how to beat the likes of Lewandowski or Makhloufi at first, Cheruiyot is so far ahead (and has so much more 800m speed) that he will still easily win any upcoming, direct 1500m duel (and ofc also 2000m if he's fully fit)
Coevett is probably hard as a rock right now. Great run though, I didn't think anyone was was even going sub 455.
I love how the talks of rampant doping going through Kenya unchecked have been put to bed and yet it is Nike's main attraction that produces the dope performance of the night.

The thread said Ingebrigtsen ran 4.51. Reading must also be hard for you. So the correct time was 4.50.1. Impressive - but at that distance still a long way from El G's 4.44.79. More EPO needed.

Tim used his time off to plant potatoes as usual - except this time the potato was himself and he planted it on his couch

No, just a couple more years maturity and training and an actual race,

Haha, classic.
But seriously, I do worry about Tim. I hope he hasn't lost motivation. Looks like he could be the biggest loser from the delaying of Tokyo.
At least it seems he won't have to worry about Manangoi as a rival anymore. Then again, he needs him to at least push him in training. Manangoi looked like he couldn't push a bag of beans let alone potatoes last night.

4:50.1 to 4:44.8

3:30.0 to 3:26.2

Looks to me that Jakob is now far out of reach for poor Timmy. Even old man Henrik crushed him yesterday. I would think Timmy would be lucky to be in the top 30 in the 1500 now.
I enjoyed watching this time trial type format. It has lots of promise . 2 pacers and 3 racers and total time, it’s much more entertaining then watching guys jog for 2 3/4 Laps and then sprint one lap.

I also agree with you, while I do think Manangoi will make a comeback, he's never gonna be again a strong contender for a global gold medal. Tim is clearly the biggest looser from that : young British with devastating speed have more time to improve, Lewandowski has more time to master the 1500m (he's clearly still improving fast on this distance), Makhloufi has more time to make his comeback, and Jakob is also improving. In 2020, he would have been sure to win, in 2021, that's another story. I just hope he doesn't lose motivation to train hard.

Lol yeah, hi Coevett!
Tim and Elijah will be fine come Tokyo. Tim is 24 and Elijah is 29, they are not over the hill.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
