Yep ... might be a 2hr46 time but I bet elapsed is 4hours or more. And his post that "it's the distance that counts" would help rationalise the lie.
Putting it on LinkedIn reminds me of that politician who claimed to have run a sub-3 marathon. Hopes to build professional credibility by appearing to be an achiever at everything.
No way he did it even with rests. A sub 5 min mile and a 10+ min mile in there? Didn't happen.
It is like the Paul Ryan one:
Paul Ryan: "Hmm.., I think I heard a sub 3 hour marathon is good and I remember people saying I did good , so I'll say I did sub 3".
This guy: "I heard a sub 3 is good so that's what I'll aim for on this bike ride and say I ran it".
Neither had any clue how outrageous their claim was.
