Something that amazes me is how much rioting, looting, and destruction there is and how much it's being tolerated. Maybe it's because I live in Idaho, the gun-happiest state in the country, but if that stuff happened here, the perpetrators would literally be shot by civilians. Why isn't this happening elsewhere? How long before it does? Seems like might be the only way, sadly.
If the people of Idaho were subjected to decades of illegal abuses of power, assault, repeated violations of constitutional rights, and extrajudicial killings at the hands of government employees, what would happen in Idaho, "the gun-happiest state in the country"?
Would the citizens petition and complain to the government?
Would they march, with signs and chants, exercising their 1st Amendment freedoms of assembly and speech?
Would they form the National Association for the Advancement of Idaho Citizens in an effort to get the word out? Would they, say take a knee at a football game?
Would they form angry, violent mobs in the street, like the colonists did in British America during the years 1765-1775? If so, would detractors denounce these Idahoans as "rioters?"
Would these hypothetically oppressed citizens of Idaho vigorously exercise their 2nd Amendment rights?
If the people of Idaho were subjected to decades of illegal abuses of power, assault, repeated violations of constitutional rights, and extrajudicial killings at the hands of government employees, I think we all know what would happen.
