You realize Russia's misinformation campaign works both ways. Their goal is to divide American's but it is also to hurt American's interest. What do you think benefits Russia more, the severe damage to our economy through the shutdown or worst case half a million Americans(the majority of whom are in nursing homes) dieing. The massive unemployment and political divisiveness, not to mention the health toll of the damaged economy is way worse for America when viewed from the eyes of our enemies.
Which stories have you seen amplified, Americans are terrified of this virus and think it is way worse than it is. It's the misinformation about the 3% death rate that is being spewed on TV, online blogs, and once reputable media, it isn't this new CDC report showing .26% is the best estimate. If Russia has been trying to amplify that this isn't that serious they've failed miserably, at least where I live.
