Some marathoners, especially those from cold climates who do significant amounts of mileage on a treadmill, claim that it actually helps them to develop better pace awareness, because one deceleration and you're off the back and into the armoire.
Yeah but anyone could claim that any of the above crap helps, but I think the general consensus is that it doesn't.

True especially Daniels or Vigil. Very limiting mindset.
We should all train and be like Rocky. While Ivan Drago trained with the state of the art equipment, Rocky had heart and trained with less sophisticated equipment and dealt with nature. He built himself to be as tough as steel and oblivious to pain.
Rocky won the fight and showed he was a true warrior.
Adidas A1lessth 250.00 dollars and they are nextto worthless.

EPO doesn't improve performance one bit? Really?
Q-Ray bracelets
clothes?
Short running shorts in training. My mid thigh shorts do the same thing.
Nothing on your list is costly. I take it you are not female or you would know that a good sports bra is very important for comfort which will improve running. Some watches ave things you don't need but needed for training. And chafe gel is great.
Are you sure about the goat's blood? I've been using that all year and swear it's been helping.
Since alot of these things listed won't help I'll say that:
-a coach doesnt help, I mean all he does is yell at you and tell you how fast you should run
-Shoes dont help at all I mean look at the africans
-Shorts cant help you run cause I bet with out them you wouldn't chafe at all
-drinking any kind of fluid at all till your done running even if its a 2 and a half hour run
- a watch or some sort of measuring device because we all know how far and fast we run because its intuned in our bodies at birth
-a car for that matter because we all should be running to the races and training places, cause thats what the kenyans do
- a team because that usually means you have to pay for some club or to go to school
Anything Paula uses.
I thought we were talking about costly items here...when the hell did a $10 watch put anybody into a financial crisis?
-have to disagree with EPO as well. ask that irishman who got busted. blew out a 27.30 at stanford after being a 29.00 guy.
-also disagree with the above statement of not drinking on a 2 hour run. that's just not smart. please don't put that inside someone's head.
- i will add:
oakley sunglasses
nike shox
custom spikes
those nasal strips
the calf compression socks
condoms

You must be new to letsrun. What you describe is the essence of the "letsrun dude".
You see, to be a letsrun dude you have to act poor and say "dude" a lot. Even if you are 30 years old with a full time job......and living with your parents, you have to act like cotton t-shirts, shoes with 2000 miles on them and stealing food from local races is the only way to live. Drinking Endurox instead of chocolate milk is a death penalty offense and Pre's honor must be defended at all costs in discussions at letsrun.......dude.
