ONtario, Canada?
Ritz coaching, and ON shoes.
Who wants to be injured immediately?
How does that compare among pro running coach salaries?
Too bad more people don’t care about running (hence bringing more money to the sport). I’m sure there are Texas high school football coaches making more than that.
It's easy to make fun of Dathan and the thought of him coaching a bunch of young athletes to injury, but well done to ON for investing our sport. Great people.
Is this related to the Joe Klecker speculations?
Ritz is a smart guy that has learned from some of the best.
Prinz was a HS maniac but super knowledgeable
Wetmore is one of the Mt. Rushmore of College Distance Running.
Hudson is quirky but has had a great amount of success.
Salazar was thought to be one of the best in the World before his fall from grace.
Hansons are some of the most underrated Marathon minds in the business who Coached both Rosario and Mackey who have done pretty well.
That is a pretty impressive resume.

Remember when Des Linden told us we were not allowed to like Ritz?
It looks like he came out of this situation okay. He will be a part of this sport for as long as he chooses.
Not really a surprise considering Brooks Running Marketing and Athlete Manager left for ON two months ago. Will be interesting to see how this plays out and the quality of product used. ON is strong in europe, but still struggling for shelf space in RSAs in the USA.

Pretty sure Brooks may get blind sided and more than little shocked by how this all plays out. ON is not done acquiring assets.
Not very often do great athletes make great coaches. They tend to lack the patience and personality to develop long term. Also having been coached by one or two or good coaches doesn’t make a good coach either. Especially someone like Ritz who bounced around like a lottery ball from coach to coach. It shows a lack of trust. And that is a huge complement in getting an athlete to perform. I hope Ritz the best but highly doubt this will be a long term success.
going from coach to coach can help him. I worry about the guy that only had one coach and only knows that one way of doing things.

And this is why the forum needs a ‘like’ button. Well done.

I see On shoes on prominent display at many local places here in the US. I’ve got a few friends that love them and stopped running in other brands. I just can’t make myself even try them. They seem awkward and overpriced.

I work in run specialty and On is succeeding wildly as a brand. On one hand I understand why, because nowadays it’s all about that athleisure life and looking athletic, and On certainly has the aesthetic appeal, they look dope. Also many of our customers are gym rats and that seems to be what On’s footwear is about. I’ve gotten a couple of free pairs myself however and as comfortable as they are to simply kick around in or do a treadmill run here or there, when it comes to getting outside and putting in legitimate miles, they’re kind of terrible. The million deep flex grooves in the midsole is really nothing but a highly effective rock catcher. There is no way those Zap kids don’t spend half of every run getting rocks and debris out of their shoes. And finally, for $150-$250 shoes, their durability leaves a lot to be desired.
It’s not to bag on them, they’re a creative brand and have done impressive things in a short time, it’s just sometimes their success kinda boggles my mind given he shortcomings. They look cool though!
Poor investment- athletes will wear blacked out Nikes in races
Credit if On is investing in competitive running.
However, I think their market is more Orange Theory and lifestyle. Don’t think this will give them a great return.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
