800 dude, true story, I went for one in SF that my buddy had, but was stopped by a stoplight and couple of cars- stopped just long enought to let them pass, then hammered the rest of it (maybe 90s long?), still got it by 2-3s, but disallowed b/c of the stop, haha.
met him for a run the next day, left my place early, hammered and snagged the segment, then swung by his house to "start" the run, and we ran the segment easy...yet he still received the "you lost your segment" notification when we got back to his house :) thankfully he took it back a week later. Too bad we didn't do strava back in the early morning oatmeal days.
All in all, I don't see the big deal, still a useful app, and I'm ok with paying for a good service. I'm also just fine buying a garmin and using the app/website they provide for their customers.
