This has got me thinking even more about Instagram Influencers. They're not really professional anythings. They're Sales and Marketing contractors.
For example, Nick is now working as a Marketing Assistant for Gymshark. It's great, but it's the online version of handing out leaflets on the high street. It's fine, its a job that needs doing, but it's not a professional sportsman or athlete. It's not even sponsorship.
If McDonalds gave me an inflatable Ronald MacDonald outfit to go around town and say how good the burgers are, I'm not an influencer. I'm not "sponsored" by McDonalds. I'm not a catering professional. I'm not creating any products. It's just doing someone else's marketing for them.
