Can anybody enhance this video? Or get still shots? It looks fuzzy to me and I can't tell exactly where the mystery guy jumps in.

I also think he wouldn't jump in the final stretch like this. There would be no way at least 20 people wouldn't see him do that. He had to have done it farther back.

Trying to explain to a non runner is difficult, if not impossible, the time differences and why is it is a almost certainty, that based upon his times alone, he cheated. The best analogy I have found is, remember Uncle Rico from napoleon dynamite? and how he thought he could get into the NFL? Mike Rossi is that guy. That is how far off he is from qualifying for Boston.

He got dozens of LRCers to admit that 3:11 is a good marathon! Dozens of LRCers to admit that they are only 3:20-3:30 marathoners! Even rojo called a 3:11 marathon something like the greatest run of all time.

Also, rojo, if you talk to the tv news, don't use the "like a woman running a man's time" angle. Do mention that thousands of Boston qualified runners were turned away from their "once in a lifetime" opportunity, and that's why it matters that people don't cheat to get in.

I don't think anyone's listening, but this is getting entertaining. The only athletes who have made huge "improvements" like Mike did so because their half marathon times were from trail half marathons! What he's claiming to do have done, improved from 1:47 to 3:11 in that short amount of time has not been done in my little sample.One described the race as "it is a very tough course. Steep hills up and down, mud, creeks, tree roots, rocks, etc."

@ 2:09.33 the dark figure walks back to the left side, right as the baby stroller goes from left to right. I think the person is stepping onto the course to see if someone they know is coming. (Trust me I have a 24" monitor)

I agree--it seems that you can see someone behind singlet guy. And there are times after you spot Rossi that he is completely obscured behind singlet guy.

Also singlet guy (and the crowd) would definitely take notice of someone popping out right behind him..

It did fool me at first--and I really don't see what happens to the guy that did come out of the crowd, but didn't cross the street.

Unfortunately, yes.

It's not hugely popular but I've seen it several times. You read it and it makes you pause, kind of like the "quarter marathon" I saw once.

I'm already setting up my website to promote a virtual racing series that charges entry fees----goodbye day job..
