I'm from the area he's from, went to the same school district his children do. I can say, naturally a Rydal dad would throw a tantrum like this.

Before this went viral, the original post that was being shared was from his Facebook where he had photo collages of going to all of these restaurants and living it up.

The only "educational" experience he had shared was a picture with his kids where the Boston tea party happened and joked about dumping his beer into the body of water.

Sounds like he tried to jam a few educational things in there so he could have an argument but really he just wanted to make it to the marathon and go to Boston.

Typical Rydal attention seeking crap.

May I also note that he works for a broadcasting company so let's all give him a pat on the back for getting his message heard. He wants to act like he didn't mean for all of this attention to come to the principal or the school district, but I hardly believe that given his profession and how this took off.

I think everyone here is sympathetic for the principal - in fact it was due to his being a jackass towards the principle that this firestorm got started, he brought this internet justice on himself. But yes emailing the school is a bad idea, we can agree on that.I honestly feel sorry for his wife and kids because he looks like a class A douche, that house must be a real shrine to him. And there is NO WAY this guy apologizes or comes clean - none. I just hope LVM hands down the DQ quickly and it doesn't actually take "weeks".

I think you're right... first let me address anyone who thinks he'll somehow fess up. People of his ilk will only do that when absolutely cornered with no way out. He is going to deflect and distract from the clear evidence until this issue dies down. Why should he bother to answer to LRC or anyone else? Then, he will switch sports and make believe this never happened. We all know this is what Kip did, isn't he a cyclist now?

He's not going to come clean and apologize... remember Bill Clinton? Even after the whole world had conclusive evidence they were intimate he still refused to come clean. Guess what no one talks about anymore? Mike is going to ride low for a few weeks, even if major news comes after him. I am however very confident he will be extremely careful any time he exposes himself again.

If the only thing this accomplishes is getting a cheater out of the sport and maybe this deters people from cheating in the future then I'm satisfied. I know people are anticipating an apology (which I agree won't happen) but the idea of him sweating right now is enough for me.

I wish that Letsrun posters, the media and the general public would devote this much passion towards shaming companies like Nike, when they sponsor convicted drug cheats, events, when they put up free travel, appearance fees and prize money for cheaters or governing bodies in track and field, when they do very little to disincentivize cheating. Maybe we could finally force them to clean up the sport at the elite level.

Mike Rossi is a giant douche, but, really, who gives a crap about some wannabe Boston qualifier? (don't get me wrong, I'm enjoying him receiving the karma that is due to him). However, there are bigger fish to fry out there that need this kind of attention and commitment to justice.
