i don't get involved in culture wars. this is about a group of people pushing their beliefs on others. most people will live and let live. they want more than that. I don't play pretend. If I actually wanted to talk to her myself, Id call her they. but I don't. so I wont.
Are you just ignorant? Pretending to be or just willfully ignorant?
beat it nerd.
im not the one getting on a mic telling everyone how they should think, talk, and what they should believe.
Down voting an observation is so soft. Didn't say anything about disagreeing with her pronouns. Just stated I what I heard: Butler makes a move and "they" take the lead.
Re-read your 2nd sentence.
All the women in the field were called "they" when they took the lead. Not a single male in the 1500 were called a "they" at any point. You should go by They-son Jones
Right, it's not like he said beforehand that his goal was the world championships, now he has zero chance at it given that Nuguse and Ciattei both have the standard and finished ahead of him. Stop with the excuses. He is NOT the best 1500m runner in the world.
Your right. He’s the reigning Olympic Gold Medalist. Shut the f*ck up. You are an idiot. Racing is racing. Not holding some privileged position.
So the reigning Olympic champion now can only place 5th at his own national championship, are you even listening to yourself? Don’t hate Hocker but he absolutely is not the best and we need to stop pretending he is.
Way to mike it up, dude. She’s a great runner and beautiful woman. I loved her charge. Mackay put a surge and Butler just dropped the hammer and never let off. I had tears for her in the moment…really wanted the W for her. A big move with a big ticket to worlds.
Hiltz continues to be a stud. Love them. And leopard print top for the win.
wonder how many runners who barely missed Worlds are secretly happy they don't have to fly to cold and dreary Poland in two weeks for some one off race nobody will even see.

Just clarifying why you received downvotes and it wasn’t because of “observation”. It’s because of your commentary.

Hi. So, calling someone a “nerd” both, literally and figuratively, only conveys the meaning that you are stupid. It is an open acknowledgment that the person you’re calling the word is more intelligent, and just better overall.

What’s the last global championship 1500m “dual threat” Jakob won?
Seems like they both have the armor chunk that championship 1500m races bring.
well, Jakob won the double at Euros and worlds last year. And he is ALWAYS in the mix for both. As for Hocker, well he couldn't finish top 3 in BOTH for his own country.
You can beat all of the people some of the time. And you can beat some of the people all of the time. But it’s very hard to beat all of the people all of the time. Hocker has had an all-time great year so far, and he had an off day today after a great race yesterday. And yes, today’s race by Hocker does give a glimpse into how impressive it is that Jakob has as many Euro titles as he has. Just because you’re better than everyone else on paper doesn’t mean it isn’t damned hard to beat a field of professionals over and over again in a championship race. Those guys have ego, pride, and talent, too.
Bad NBC. The track announcer was so loud and with so much echo it drowned out the NBC commentators. The closed captioning was "running" so far behind it was useless. Turning the sound off made it barely watchable. NBC should do better.

Man there’s so many miserable guys on this site. Anybody who’s followed professional runners know they love going to international races. And it’s actually a big privilege for athletes who only end up having 1-2 World championship appearances. I know most guys on here who enjoy competitive running would love to make a NACAC team forget about a World team.
