Did Mike Rossi (viral marathon dad) cheat his way into Boston?

But, Rossi has yet another option: he could sue Ken, Peter, Greg, Tim, and/or the brojos for calling him a cheater and a liar. I know it is unlikely Rossi would sue anybody for calling him a cheater and liar, because he wouldn't be able to prove the statements are false, but Rossi doesn't play by the same rules as most people. Since the movie A Few Good Men was discussed recently, I'll point out that Rossi reminds me of Col. Nathan R. Jessup, who (as written) lived in his own fantasy world. Like Col. Jessup, Rossi would probably be good for some courtroom fireworks if we can just get him there.

- he is not losing in the court of public opinion. He's 99.99999% guilty in the court of runners' opinions, but that's a very small fraction of the real world. Non-runners vaguely (if at all) remember him as dad of the year. He got interviewed by Matt Lauer, and we all love Matt Lauer. Matt Lauer would never interview a bad guy, right?

- I'm not so sure that Rossi's current strategy of keeping his name in a tiny spotlight is the wrong move. We live in a very bizarre age - where any type of attention is good. I don't quite understand it, I certainly don't like it, but it is what it is. Can a sex tape be far behind?

- I wasn't in the boardroom, but I'd be very surprised if the charity wasn't consulted regarding the BQ. This whole idea of attacking Barb McKeever (was she even on the "Review Committee?") is probably the weirdest part of this sick mob mentality thread.

- You now think that someone is going to write an article about the Review Committee's decision not to BQ? Good luck with that.

- And finally, I really think the Brojos screwed up by offering the $10,000 to run a 5K under 20 minutes. If I was advising Rossi (for the record, I'm not - I don't even have an AOL email address), I'd tell him to train like hell, do speed work on the treadmill all winter, and come back in the spring and torch a 5k, declare victory, and retire forever from running.

Read the replies on Cecily Tynan's Facebook post again. He's guilty to 100% of Philadelphia residents.... Ya know, the people who hire local DJs and will most likely now avoid him.

The lack of comments from people who know him is also deafening. They will post anonymously here (assuming it's not ALL Mike), but won't put their real name on the line to defend him on Facebook. Were they ashamed that it would be on their FB feed for all of their friends to see? Very telling...
