FYI there are people here who aren't shitty hobby joggers like those who have flocked to this thread or friends of Mike's who think Ken is a duplicitous fraud. But you're entitled to learn that on your own.

Read the Lehigh Valley Marathon rules, and tell me where it says that a participant has to actually run every bit of the course, from start to finish, in order to be counted as a finisher, and to receive a finishing time.
Sure, we all ASSUME that you would have to run the entire course on foot, under your own power, to be counted as a finisher.
But by the letter of the Lehigh Valley Marathon rules, nothing prohibits activating your chip, hitching a ride to the finish line, and crossing the line to register a finishing time.
(Something that would prohibit this "course-cutting" strategy would be a phrase somewhere, ANYWHERE in their race documentation, that says something along the lines of "Participants must cover every inch of the course, on foot, under their own power, in order to be credited with finishing the race, and to receive an official finishing time.")
The wording of all of these statements continues to be carefully chosen, to avoid saying things like "ran the entire distance" because:
1. Rossi knows that he didn't actually run the entire distance. (Hence, the "no evidence of wrongdoing" statement, which sounds authoritative, but ultimately is vacuous, since cutting the course can't be "wrongdoing" if there's no rule against it.)
2. The Lehigh Valley Marathon knows that they don't have a rule that explicitly prohibits what Rossi likely did. As ugly and as wrong as it sounds, a shrewd lawyer (which Rossi may or may not have) could very well argue that no matter how Rossi managed to cross the finish line, he was still listed as a finisher, and received an official finishing time, which is all that really matters, in the absence of specific rules prohibiting certain means of achieving a finish.
To be clear, regardless of the legality of this, in my opinion, neither party is taking the moral "high ground" on this issue.
And that's the part that's infuriating everybody, that's generated 12,000+ posts about this.
But, like it or not, both Rossi and LVM are legally in the clear, and have no motivation to do anything differently than they've already done . . . provided that nobody can come up with a way to "shame" them into it. (What the BroJos have done as far as the reward money is a start, but not enough on its own to change anybody's mind about this.)
The best part of this whole story has nothing to do with Mike Rossi . I couldn't care less about trivial crap like "cheating" in anything . Some people do things their own way , you are all just jealous that Mike cutt He course and wasn't DQ'd because none of you have yet figured out how he did it and you never will , you only have theories , again NOTHING SOLID , No map to show where or how he got in or out , no eyewitnesses to confirm any theory . NOTHING ! .... Nothing matters in this life people , life is way too short to give a rats pi-toot if some guy 25, 300, or 2000 miles away did or did not run the entire length of a charity foot race . He paid his entrance fee , DONE ! But what I love about MIke Rossi is that he has all of you yelling and screaming at him and he doesn't care and why do you think he doesn't ? This may have worked (I'm being kind), except Mike paid a lawyer to write a few people, and most recently Ken, to try to make them stop posting on here, so (1) he does care; and (2) he is specifically alleging it is potentially damaging to his business and that's the basis for the cease and desist letter.
Weak effort for many reasons, but mostly a lack of effort and research.

The lawyer and the C&D has nothing to do with the race result or the cheating accusation . The lawyer is to address the defamatory child abuse accusations leveled at him , it has nothing to do with the race accusations .

But I would add to the toll rater's comment - if Mike didn't care, and it doesn't matter if he cheated, why then would he not just admit he cheated? Obviously he doesn't admit it because it does matter if he cheated or he would be open and honest about it. People do care if someone lie's and cheats. It's destroyed plenty of other people's reputations and careers. Even crying on TV afterward doesn't always help.

The reason this whole thread started was an attempt to get Mike DQ'd , it failed ! So then it evolved into trying to badger him enough to get his family and career life upset . It failed , so now it evolved into tons of money being offered to have a guy with a torn hip labrum repeat a performance that he did when healthy , and you think that if he can't repeat that performance that proves he is guilty . 100k is a lot of money , but he can instead just continue to frustrate all of you and in another year he'd have made 100k anyhow because none of this will affect his career . You all have serious tunnels vision , you think that the people in his industry care about what he does in his private life , nobody in that industry cares , Mike Rossi or his career and family will never be affected .
