2024 won't be the same without her, but she'll be back. And she likely inspired a lot of women to follow in her and Deena's footsteps. Can't wait for 2024. Hoping this list of celebrations grows longer.

Sad to see such a great runner not line up, but her Tokyo Olympic race is worth a lifetime of memories. I never screamed so hard that day. Only 3 American women have ever medaled and I watched Joanie Benoit do it in 1984 and totally destroy that field, the greatest marathon field ever at the time and Deena Kastor's bronze in 2004 and I cried watching Molly. It will be interesting to see the next time an American woman can crack that top three. it will happen someday. Someone incredibly talented who breaks the mold, humm Parker Valby 2028 or 32, hehehe :)

I’m such a big fan of Molly. And marathoners are always walking a fine line between excellence and injury. She looked good at Chigaco! But I guess has always had her knee in some kind of strapping.

Going forward. Once she’s had a decent break. I’d be questioning her and her coach’s view that she does well on really high mileage. Often she’ll hit 130 miles. Is that necessary? Is her body recovering enough? Yes she has the engine for it but her body keeps breaking down.

Kiera does well on a lot less mileage and I haven’t seen her seriously injured just a few niggles. She needs to work out what she can achieve on less mileage.

Yes she did. But, alas why is that a black mark? Silly argument in the fist place. I have found by and large the ability to go deep and work hard is internal/genetic. Not how hard your upbringing was. There is a long list of people with great engines over the centuries who had all their needs met growing up.

It isn't a black mark. Somebody tried to give her extra credit by saying that she had to overcome a lot in her life. I pointed out how ridiculous that statement was if you compare her life to other great marathoners. Most were poor. The had bad housing. They had bad nutrition, They didn't have Healthcare. They slept on straw beds. They didn't have air conditioning. They had to work. They worried for their safety. Her accomplishments are incredible. But it is ridiculous to claim that she overcame hardships.

athletes are always getting injured, and then doctors say exercise is good for your health, when in reality it's only good for doctors' bank accounts.

In the context of the USOT it hardly seems inaccurate.

Running is good for you health. Eating disorders and running so close to your limit you are always flirting with injury is not good for you health.

Molly had to overcome poor cell phone reception for her Instacart gigs. It was a terrible hardship no one has to go through. Everyone in America should have a strong cell phone signal.
