Sometimes it's the small things in this thread that really make it worth reading. Like here we are, nearly 12,000 posts in, and it is revealed that Mike's lawyer uses an AOL email. And I've been laughing about it at work off and on all morning. People are giving me odds looks. Worth it though.

We just see who can put together the best best band and rock out. I don't know what instruments he can play but he does like to sing over his music so he must have some pretty strong vocal cords by now. I'll be on lead guitar with my 1984 Cherry Red Carvin DC200T and singing backup.

No, that is not it. He would have had to already sign up for Boston using the LVM time when he ran Philadelphia. The registration window closed prior to Philly.
The obvious answer as to why Rossi ran the Philadelphia Marathon is because it is the big race in those parts and he wanted attention. And he probably just wanted to actually run a fall marathon since he did NOT due so at LVM.
