Shocking! ?
Who could have predicted such a turn of events?

The question that needs to be answered is why is the number of deaths per capita so much higher in New York state than anywhere else in the world?
I don't have an agenda, I am truly curious.

If you’re going to insult someone’s intelligence do a quick spell check, otherwise you just end up with egg on your face.

Nice answer and artful deflection. You cannot spot obvious sarcasm but an obvious typo makes me the stupid one.

Lombardy was in the neighborhood of NYC death but yes both are pretty far outliers. Something about those areas enabled a lot of spread (being hit hard early probably contributed) and something about their population (poor air quality, obesity) set them up for a huge number of deaths. Or if you want a scary option, there are 2 strains of covid19 out there and one is extra nasty....
The Pennsylvania Department of Health slashed the state’s COVID-19 death toll on Thursday by 201, saying probable deaths it had previously included in the count were eliminated after further investigation.
