Welp, that was frustrating to watch. The problem is that Rupp makes it look so easy... when he starts to slow down, you're like COME ON, MAN! THIS ISH IS LIKE WALKING! But I'm sure it doesn't feel that way to him.

I cringed when I saw that post early on.
Especially seeing the thread about all of the 5000 records that were set with a negative split.
And then when I saw the splits slowing down I was thinking of how hard it is to get it back, especially if the initial pace was faster than goal pace.

I get that, but he visibly put on the breaks and looked around for others to take the lead. THAT is different. No S#i+ he was tired. Would he have crashed harder? Maybe. Did I expect him to run this fast? No I did not. Not with have twin babies around the house and first race back. I am not disappointed in his time or his place. I just wish he didn't slam on breaks on that 600m is all.
If it makes you feel better, I did lose 6 pds on my slow a$$ run yesterday. I was all kinds of fatigued.
Take a look at the long jump results for a latitudinal look at the wind. around 0.3-0.6 earlier, but now as high as 2.5 m/s

Dude. Weather.com is reporitng 2 mps wind. THe win in the 100 h was 1.4 m/s. That's not much.
The sprint times are slow because it's perfect distance weather. Damp low 60s insn't good for sprinting.
That was an awful hurdle. Long waits for the start, 2 false starts, 1 dq, 1 hurdler bites the track.
Even the commentators were bashing the starters for holding them way too long.
