And LEVINS is their to perform Guard Duty!
Sorry, that is NOT Levins. Looks like pacers struggling?!?
Updates. Bump.
I don't care, THIS IS THE WAY TO RUN IT, RUPP!
WHATS THE STATUS
GO RUPP, GO!
The pacers are gone!
GO RUPP, GOOO!!!!!
What did I say? Nike, you were supposed to pay another entrant to help with pacing it out to 4000m!
Whatever, this is still his best strategy.
We got a race now.
He died!
12:54 winning time
Rupp 13:06.
lmao rupp
Having 6 week old twins can't be good for your kick.
Rupp ran it correctly, he just does not have the AR fitness right now. That was the rust buster. He has to get back to that fitness he had when he got th 10000m AR.
I'm proud of him for trying. The way he ran it is his best strategy. He still got fourth, but at least he went for it. When he gets back to peak shape, he will take scalps and the AR with that strategy.
He was right there until 500m to go. When they dropped to 56s pace, he stayed at 64s.

did he actually race, but fell short? Or did he hang back and just fade? The former being more respectable

The post about 6 week old twins has some merit, and after 6 weeks off this is a bit of a rust buster, but I don't think he ran the race right if he was going for the win, which is what he stated. At this level these guys are so close in ability someone who forces the pace from 3000-3800 as Rupp did is asking to get buried buy the guys sitting on him. Even Ndiku got burned for taking over just after 3800. It basically came down to who could save the most energy the longest, and that was certainly not Rupp who was on pace from the get go, or Ndiku who was running hard from around 3800.
At least the curse of slow 5000s has been broken, hopefully Rupp bounces back over the next couple of races.
And there's Robertson, right out the back as soon as the rest of the world show up.
