Thus the US has 50% more deaths per day now by your math. That's a big difference! Given the obvious and documented insanely favorable risk:reward of the COVID vax for all groups which it is approved, we should be encouraging everyone to get the vaccine. Not getting the vaccine is a moronic life choice and should be judged as thus. If someone gets hammered and wraps their car around a telephone pole... we don't applaud their freedom-minded thinking.
Harambe, that's either a really bad statistical error or you're trying manipulate stats to lie with stats. I'll presume it was the former, but c'mon bro! You're better than that.
Think about if one treatment caused a 99% reduction in symptoms (so symptoms are at 1% of original levels, or had a 100-fold reduction) and another that causes a 97% reduction (so symptoms are at 3% of their original levels, or had a 33-fold reduction). If you only compared 100/100 = 1 and 100/33 .333=3 and claimed that the first treatment was 300% better than the other, that'd be the stuff of crackpots. There's virtually no statistical difference between those two outcomes.
Similarly, in our example with the U.S. and Switzerland, we're talking about one country reducing its deaths by 78%, and the other reducing it by 67%. Perhaps there's a small difference, but that is not a 50% difference by any legitimate analysis. Both countries were dealing with a weaker virus and greater herd immunity (whether vaccine-induced or natural). But Switzerland is doing much better now than the U.S., and they did much better pre-vaccine than the U.S., so you really are fooling yourself if you attribute it all or even the majority of the difference to the vaccine, given the overall similarity in vax doses/100 people.
