I feel like every year a freshman gets slept on. Last year Robert Mechura cracked the top 25. Will Weber was close. One kid that could potentially steal a top 25 spot would be Sean Fries. He was very close to Westerlund at conference
I have no sources, very hard to get anything out of Wayzata, because they are smart and well run program, but I would bet they are resting his injury until NXR. I would also say Breker is running state, precautionary training this week.
I agree with this statement but you also have to realize the former 7th runner Brady Bushlack was injured mid season. This is the reason why Max is running for Stillwater’s varsity team.

This discussion has been hijacked in so many threads, so, why not create a separate thread on this? They have L/L/Doshi/Seymour/2 Aarons locked as their top 6.If anyone is interested in this discussion, any predictions on who...
That is solid list. I still think a 90% healthy Breker is good enough to win state, but this sure makes things more interesting. Gillis looks like he is timing his peak right. Anyone of the top six could come out the champion on Saturday.
Too hard to predict after the top six as there as so many variables.
Looks like this thread might hit 1000 replies which is rare for any running related thread.

It’s likely gonna get more replies than for hs xc threads of any other states
Guys I can't even come up with my own predictions. I believe Gilles will win again as he is peaking at the right time and Breker doesn't appear to be 100%. I really believe 6 different guys could win on Saturday, even the guys in team scoring will want to beat each other for the team, like Hazma and Casey for example.
Yeah tell me where breker gets access to this equipment in high school lol. Anyway I think breker is also more focused meets later past the regular season like NxN or RunningLane/Footlocker (idk witch ones he’s doing) As in his milesplit interview he said he wanted to peak then. Not that winning state doesn’t matter to him, or that he’s not bummed from the injury, but I think he’s looking more towards later season, so maybe this is a small setback for his 2022 season. Also I heard from a connection to the Armstrong team the he was sick at Sections, this all hear say but thought I’d put it out there.

Those zero gravity treadmills are not difficult to find. I saw one at a training facility for youth / high school kids in MN just last night.
Southwest barely misses out on state and returns 187, 169, 169, 147, 107. They will definitely need a fifth for next year if they want to secure their spot at state and do well there
Minneapolis Southwest also has junior Chase Litman who beat Meyer and Ueland (2 SW varsity XC guys) in the 1600 here
I don't think there's a single school in MN with an alter-G, but there are some places (PTs and performance centers) where you can pay to run on one (or it can be included in a PT plan). On a somewhat related note, there's also a rollerski treadmill that you can ski on for $75/hour. Crazy world we're living in.
Is 8th grader Henry Ueland from Washburn related to Gus Ueland from Southwest? If so, why does he run for Washburn? Or is he planning to go to Southwest next year?
