It is a goal for Filip and Jakob to run fast in Monaco. They have stated at several occations that they have improved since last year, and capable of running faster than last year. Henrik has said that there has been discussions among Filip and Jakob about attempting to beat 3:28.81 in Monaco this year.

Unless she runs 8:15 nobody is gonna break up this field sufficiently to secure a win.
But Ayana (or someone else) can probably avoid a drop off the pace in the middle like in Doha (splits of 2:51 - 2:53 - 2:41-42 for Obiri and Dibaba as the first two with the last lap in ~61 when they gained 3-4 sec. the 8:29/30 runners) and it will be interesting to see who can take such a fast race from the start and throughout and who will be dropped.
Who is Koko? Looking forward to see what Fantu Worku is capable of.
Koko is the nickname of Konstanze Klosterhalfen who beat Obiri, Tirop, Rengeruk and Kipkemboi in Birmingham 2017 and is the main contender in this field who is not of East African extraction.

Yes I agree with that, Ayana herself has said the 3k is too short for her. What I find interesting is the amended training some of the top females are doing to become beasts across unrelated distances. Hassan last year with the European H/M record combined with 1500 & 5000m performances (the female Kejelcha) and Obiri is Hardly less impressive with her range (sub 30 road 10k last year, cross country champion and 3000m win over Dibaba this year and 5k D/L champ last year out kicking Hassan no less)
Ayana now has some mid race high tempo competition- the other females must be training in a similar fashion long pace will win the 10k at worlds - and probably in the foreseeable future,
Obiri after winning world cross ountry title confidently stressed that she will successfully defend her 5000m title in Doha. In Doha she showed a glimpse of what she meant by beating Benzene Dibaba. Her last race in stockholm wasn't good but it has been more than a month. I believe she had a minor issue in Stockholm and that should be history now. Obiri has enjoyed great performances at Pre Diamond league every year she has raced. Tomorrow's race is even more important in that most of her major opponents in Doha will be racing. She will there want to win her and set the record straight. My prediction: 1. Hellen Obiri ( 8:15 or faster), 2. Sifan Hassan 8:20, ...., 5. Genzebe Dibaba.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if she is. At London 2017 in her first race for a year she smoked the last 5k of the 10,000 in 14:25!
Since Ayana really emerged in 2015 she doesnt tow the line unless she ready to run to win. In 2015 against Jenny Simpson, Vivian Cherioyut, and Genzebe Dibaba Ayana,ran the fight out if the 3000m field and,then did it again to Genzebe at the 2015 Worlds 5000m final by running her last 3000m in 8:20, yes 8:20!
If Ayana,is truly FIT and fresh she can beat any female almost 100% of the time from 3000m to 10000m.

Funny how Hassan has lots of seconds in these big races where all the guns show up. Second behind different girls like she doesn’t know how to win.

I think he could run 43.7 here. Norman can run that tonight but it’s been 2 years since Kerley has been there. Lane draw can aid Cedenio, in my minds eye I am see the middle lanes overreaching a little.

As unpredictable as this race is, I am quite certain that nobody will be winning by 5 seconds.
My prediction:
Ayana is leading with 600m to go, and then Dibaba takes over at this point and tries to outsprint Obiri and Hassan before fading with 200m to go. Obiri wins on the home straight.

Hassan 8:20
Dibaba 8:23
Ayana 8:25
Again if Ayana,is fit noome will pass her before 300m to go and she definitely wont lose to 3 women unless she isn't in top form. It doesn't matter if it's her first race since 2017. IF SHE IS FIT she will battle for the win and run faster than 8:25 weather permitting. Too many posters underestimate Ayana's endurance when she is fit and fresh.
In the mile, according to Rankerchief’s rankings, it may be: Cheruiyot, E.Manangoi, Souleiman, J.Ingebrigtsen, Tefera, Murphy, and Gregorek in that order. I would put Kaazouzi either at 6 or 7 among them.
