The way it goes I think Rupp will repeat his silver in the 10,000 (behind Mo) in 27:13 and win the Marathon gold in 2:09 (1:08/1:01).

What's the debate?

ONE. Alberto Salazar has never coached, trained with or even had a conversation with a "2:05 guy," so how would he know this?
TWO. Rupp is only 15 seconds better in the 10,000 than Dathan. Therefore Dathan should be within one minute of Rupp in a marathon, or a "2:06 guy." Since Dathan barely broke 2:08 in years of flailing away with Salazar, is Salazar admitting that he FAILED TO OPTIMALLY DEVELOP DATHAN?
Only serious discussions on these points, please.

Again, I go back to, Dathan isn't a natural marathoner. He should have stuck to the the 5k and 10k on the track and cross country. Not sure why he never tried to win world cross, but for some reason he pursued the marathon.

If I remember right it "felt like 90" as a combination of temp and humidity. Maybe I'm wrong here but that's what I thought. That would be like a "felt like 82" in LA at 78 degrees and 50% humidity?

But again comparing 80 for 10K and 80 for a marathon are not apples to apples in the first place. 27 minutes of running hard is one thing, 90 minutes with over 30 to go is a whole other.

This is a good point. In the winter, many are not in any way acclimated to high 70s and sunny, whereas that would be comfortable in the summer.
And there was carnage out there in the race. You take all these guys who have either run sub 1:05 or sub 2:19 and very few of them ran close to that level time-wise. Rupp's performance was surely worth several minutes faster and he did not honestly try to hold a fast pace except in the last several miles. Meb's performance was a quality one as well, especially considering that he has broken 2:09 once. Rupp must not figure he needs the money, because otherwise he would have made the move to marathon years ago and pulled in plenty of paychecks.

Anyone have a list of recent marks of the guys who finished 2 -10 in the race? Just curious to see how their marks lined up.

No, on this board no matter what an American runner does it's bad. If they run fast they are doping, if they get beat they suck or they're lazy.
