Mike would most likely not an a use for an attorney. But a company the size of East Coast Event Group most likely does. Even the best companies eventually get a client who isn't happy and will sue.

Do a Google search for the BBB and Wolfgang Puck and you will see what I mean. There is a great news story about what a shakedown operation that is.

So, if anything, Mike asked them to draft a letter to the RD saying that they would contest any DQ and the the charity doesn't want to risk their donation money fighting the 114th place finisher. Maybe if he had gotten an award beside the typical "participant" medal that they give to t-ball players just for signing up they might have put up a fight.

It would be interesting to see how many letters Mike could get away with before he depleted their retainer and Bob got a letter asking for more money. I haven't gotten any letters yet and I've been a complete dick.
