Obiri is just on a whole different level. No way she isn’t named to the Kenyan team.
I’d love to see Lokedi also make the team. She’s super consistent. Wasn’t able to hang with Obiri in the final mile in NYC or Boston, but really who could? She would excel at a course like Paris.

Ritz had his best years as a high schooler before he even knew who Salazar was. 12:56 and 2:07 was the absolute bare minimum for his talent level, he was going toe-to-toe with the Kenyans in cross country. If he was coming through today he would've run 13:20 in high school.
Mary Cain was 8th at the world championships at the age of 17. She was an Ingebrigtsen/Ryun/Decker/Budd level talent. It is absolutely criminal what he did to her and her career, regardless of what your feelings are on her as an adult.
could you both stop being irrelevant on this board and go fight outside? thnx
Talking about one of the all time great Marathon coaches, who won the most famous Boston marathon in history, on a thread about the Boston Marathon is "irrelevant?" fascinating.

Have you considered a career as a stand up comedian?
I like the Wheelchair annoucer as she's knowledgeable but it drive me nuts that the just talked about Huig running the course in 1:15. He didn't run a single step. Why don't they say "wheeled"? Language must mean something.
I agree. Why do they keep saying the wheelchair people are running? I sure don't see the running.

Nice to see there are at least a few folks here who get it.
Let's see how long it takes till they delete your post.
Edna Kiplagat’s longevity is insane! World marathon major podium at 44 years old. Crazy to think she medaled at world junior championships 28 years ago. She has been a world class runner longer than most her competition has been alive.
Yeah, this is amazing. Do we know much about her training? I looked for interviews with her on it but I've only found generic quotes about training hard, staying motivated, etc.
