There's gonna be MSM coverage repeating the allegations in this thread by the end of the week, guaranteed. Rossi telling some Philadelphia blog he called his lawyer doesn't mean squat. He can't sue because he made himself into a public figure, and we caught him red handed. If I were you I'd double down. I'd put the post back up with the email from his lawyer (if there was one) & bet him twenty grand he can't run one 10k at his BQ pace.

I've gone through all the photos strung together from the finishers about 20 min. ahead of him to 20 min. behind him just in case he went out at 2:50 or 3:30 pace. He isn't in any of them! Not a shadow, glimpse, or even a snudge of a single person that could be him. The photos are in a sequence when put together that it would have been impossible for him to be in the race and get missed.

I am a marathoner & a BOSTON QUALIFIER & BOSTON MARATHON FINISHER. When I crossed the finish line, it was my finest hour ! I had reached the PINNACLE in OUR SPORT. IF THIS GUY ROSSI did in fact cheat the medal he received MUST BE RETURNED & OR TAKEN AWAY FROM HIM. He is a disgrace to OUR sport. His running time of 3:11 @ Lehigh is suspicious at best. 7:00 min mile pace ....Plaeeeeeezee ! At age 50 ? Seriously doubt it. The guy is BOGUS ! SEND OUT THE DARK UNICORN TO AVENGE THIS INSULT.

Don't lose focus ladies and gents. lots of action items to get through:
1. We have the names of the finishers immediately before and after him. Can someone try to contact them to ask if they remember passing or being passed by him toward the end and if anything funky happened at the last exchange?
2. Who is the race director? Assuming it's not Mike himself, someone should contact him/her to put the pressure and share the knowledge gained here.
3. The pictures - were any taken at the exchanges? I think it may be worth scrolling through to see if he's spotted anywhere. Has anyone looked through by he lost and found yet?
Come on let's keep digging. I don't trust the folks at BAA and that BQ will give this the attention it deserves.

Has anyone checked the photos of where Mike should have been? Say the 3:30 to 4:00 finishers. Maybe he shows up in an early photo. I started looking at some of the runners, but not sure where the pictures are taken.
His finish line photo does look awfully dry for such a hot day.

Can you elaborate on this? I was thinking something similar- That the difficulty of making improvements in performance increases exponentially as the runner approaches WR pace. Like 3:40 dropping to 3:11 might actually be easier than 2:12 to 2:09. Maybe a lot easier, given my non-quantitative impressions. So I guess I'm trying to make the counterargument that Rossi doing what he claims to have done wouldn't be as incredible as a 1:49 marathon. Not sure how to phrase it though.

I am 47 and have race times roughly equivalent to his "real" race times. If I ran a 3:11 I would hire a sky writer to post my splits - it is beyond suspicious that this attention whore did not make more noise about his break through performance when he BQ'd - he sure publicized everything else.
You guys are doing a great thing - don't let this story die out until justice is served!

Where were you during Rossi's all-out "shaming" of the school principal? By acting the way he has, he's put himself in the public spotlight - using his media contacts, bugging his local running groups, re-tweeting news attention about him - legally and ethically we as honest runners are on solid ground in uncovering the full story. And we all benefit if by uncovering his lies we deter future bad behavior. I hope for the kids' sakes this blows over sooner than later, but as they say, he holds the key to his own prison. All he has to do is say I'm sorry and I'm good.
