Have someone read all the responses from the race and all the interviews. Have them read it very slowly to you. Perhaps then you will understand.

It makes me not even want to think about doing race management knowing people who didn't even run the race demand so much from you and having people put all your information out there and saying ridiculous stuff about you.

If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen. If you take the job of race director you have a responsibility to take reasonable erasures to protect the integrity of the race. When handed a mountain of evidence that someone cheated, you disqualify them. It's simple stuff.

Yeah I get it. Lot's of heat in the kitchen. Of course you don't have sympathy for her because she is even and you need to fight the machine.
She is in charge of admin and not all decisions are her's but if she does her job in a way you don't like then you should have no sympathy and don't respect her decision and start to attack her publicly and plaster her info online and on facebook and . . . oh wait, are we talking about Rossi's principle or the RD now?
Some - not all - of you come off like a bunch of entitled brats who can't accept that you are going to another way to get a DQ.

If you are too obtuse to comprehend the interviews and the statement from the race, there is no helping you. Google it, you dolt.
Don't run the race if you don't like it. They don't owe you anything other than their statement. You live in Missouri. You aren't running their race anyway.

Bull. I have not gone after her on any personal level, or posted any personal info about her. In fact, note that I refer to her as the race director and not by name. That's because I don't need searches for her to bring up this thread. I'm hugely disappointed in her but have not made it a mission that this debacle be her legacy in life.
Damn I hate the way the distance events are rossied on ESPN. Kind of like Mike's race, the start, cut to commercial, and the finish.
Mike's Boston gear are nothing but garments of shame. He can never wear them without knowing they illuminate him like a cheap neon sign.

We live in a world where decisions are made with no regard in whats right and what's wrong. The race made a business decision, they are done with it and it will never be revisited. It doesn't matter what their reason was and no one owes YOU a freaking explanation. You guys are too idealistic to understand the real world. There are a lot of worthy causes that could use people with extra time on their hands, it's sad this is where you think your time is best spent. There are people who really need help, go volunteer and actually make a difference in someones life. Hell, go rescue a dog so you can post on facebook... that will get you a lot more attention and fake goodwill then ranting on like a lunatic (although the dog probably wouldn't agree).
But if the same 3 or 4 guys want to see how high the posts can go then I say carry on. In order to have winners in this world there has to be losers...you guys can play that role.

"After a thorough review of the available evidence in relation to Mike Rossi’s participation in the 2014 Lehigh Valley Health Network Via Marathon, the Marathon committee concluded that while there is data from Rossi’s participation in other racing events indicating that Rossi’s time may not be accurate, there is not conclusive evidence that his time in the 2014 LVHN Via Marathon is inaccurate.
The LVHN Via Marathon has not received any reports from the more 2,500 race participants, thousands of spectators, and more than 600 volunteers, course marshals, security personnel, medical personnel or race officials on the course of any wrong doing by any runner. Therefore the LVHN Via Marathon Committee concluded that Rossi will not be disqualified unless additional conclusive information arises in the future.
Moving forward the LVHN Via Marathon has taken several action steps to verify runner participation and provide the utmost accuracy in timing and scoring the race for all runners.
For the 2015 LVHN Via Marathon, the course will have a minimum of six timing mats – at the start, finish line and four additional on-course locations. In addition, there will be video surveillance of the course at several locations which Via will archive annually.
The Lehigh Valley Health Network Via Marathon is proud to be a Boston Marathon Qualifying event and will continue to support this race by providing athletes the opportunity to be a part of this longstanding tradition. I personally don't think that six timing mats is enough.
I think that in addition to archiving video every year from multiple cameras going forward, they should at least do a flir and/or facial recognition analysis.
Embedded RFID chips under the skin would be a start.

My comment was that I have not said anything personal about the race director. Calling her professionally inept is not personal.
As for cheater Rossi goes, well, that might get a little personal. So, how do you think his marriage is going?

It would be interesting to know the correlation between people who cheat in running (by cutting courses, doping, or whatever else is available) and people who cheat in marriages and therefore wind up getting divorced at a higher rate. Based on my observations over the past 39 years, I'm confident that people who cheat in running are cheaters in general.

I agree, people who cheat, cheat in general because they don't care about others. I guarantee people who are more likely to cheat at a race are much more likely to cheat in every aspect of life.
