Official Foot Locker Nationals 2017 Live Thread (Girls Race 12:15 east/ Boys 1pm)

The coverage was great! Very clear, no stutters. A split screen would have helped at times but overall great.

Lane ran awesome. Right away I noticed that cart was kicking up major dust right in front of her, which continued thorughout. Something should be done that the cart doesn't kick up so much dust, maybe get rid of it.

Lane almost went off course at least three times the first half which turned out to not have much effect. The first time a guy was actually pointing the wrong way, however all worked out well.

I liked all the competition, from everyone, and already looking forward to next year!

Now for the boy's race.

Anyone labeled greatest of all time beats more then SEVERAL. Like I said, one of the all time greats..... shouldn’t sniff the GOAT conversation

I think it's tough to break the course record when she has to run alone the entire time. Not sure what happen when Melody Fairchild set the record, but running the whole race out front is not easy.

I agree. I think in any other year, Claudia Lane would be considered probably one of the best HS girls ever (sub 16 at Mt. SAC? Breaking CA State course record? Breaking 17 at Mt. SAC's 5k course?). She ran times no other girl has ever run.

However, Tuohy is on another level.

Awesome that we got two incredible girls at the same time. Really excited to see what they do in track.

Conditions didn't seem as good compared to last year and she did have a sore throat, but good on her for winning back to back titles!

This wasn't her best race obviously, but it could have been worse. Gotta feel bad for Rebecca Story to struggle and run around 19 minutes today after a 9:59 3200m tune up and being undefeated all year.

Carrie Tollefsen (Peterson married name) is from Minnesota. She went to Villanova and was a 2004 Olympian. Ran a little while for Dennis Barker/Team USAMN.

Sickness or no sickness, if you toe the line and race, you accept the performance regardless. Once you race, you forfeit the usage of “explanations” like “sore throat”. Accept the time and stop trying to qualify it.

Claudia Lane beat Katelyn Hart by 19 seconds today. Last week Katelyn Tuohy beat her by 57 seconds. Tuohy won NXN by 40 seconds. Lane won Footlocker by 19 seconds, and Footlocker had a weaker field. Touhy > Lane.

This is the footlocker thread. If you want to debate which runners or meets are better, go start another thread.

Looking back at the season.....

Lane ran the same time as last year, maybe she should not have raced so hard all year?

Touhy is a much better runner, no question at all.

Looking at running form makes you wonder where Lane will be in tow to three years?

Based on the NXN results and FL results demonstrates just how strong NY really is in XC

Cali runners are soft, that is all I can say about that, excuses and more excuses, getting old.

They're too close for anyone to say who is better. When you race without any competition, times can be all over the place. They haven't had a chance to race yet but once they do, then we will know who is better
