The thing I don't get is why all of these AFrican runners keep making moves but backin off.

I don't think Linden will win (i hope i Just reverse jiinxed her) but Dibaba's was full of run on that move and Linden didn't respond. But all doing a move like that and backing off is tire off the person who made the move.

I just went to stare real close at the TV and there are ton of men looking good. Desisa has been lookin back forever. But maybe he jsut run like that? Korir looks good, Kipyego. Chepkwomy is so smooth.

Thanks to the these 2 clowns, we have no idea where the men or women are on the course or what pace they are running

Mile 4:42 (18:55) … Tadese Tola pulling away from the rest of the pack

Mile 5: 4:53 (23:48) … Tola and Tsegay leading just ahead of the group. Meb and Arciniaga in there with Ritz at the very back of the pack.

Mile 6: 4:51 (28:39) … Desisa/Tsegay leading … pack getting spread out

10K: 29:42

Mile 7: 5:05 (33:45) … Slowed down and everyone is bunched up again and Teg caught back up. Teg, Ritz, Meb, Arciniaga all in there with a pack of about 15ish (just eye balling).

Mile 8: 5:03 (38:44)

Mile 9: 4:44 (43:28) … Desisa out pushing now, Chebet in 2nd, Korir, Tsegay, Meb only American still with the lead pack. … Desisa is now putting a bit of a gap on the pack.

15K: 44:57

Mile 10: 4:42 (48:10)… Desisa still out front pushing, Tola leading chase pack which has Tsegay, Chebet, Meb

Mile 11: 4:45 (52:56)… Tola has caught up to Desisa and they are running together with a gap to the rest of the pack … Chebet working to catch those two

Mile 12: 5:16 (58:10) … Desisa still leading, but everyone has caught up and running together as a pack again, Meb right in the thick of it. … 11 men in lead pack, Tola leading with Desisa drafting off him.

20K: 1:00:27

Mile 13: 5:12 (1:03:27) … Tsegay was pushing the pace out front, but Ritz caught back up to the back of pack. So 12 in lead pack now. Ritz leading now.

Half: 1:04:00 … Zersenay Tadese still in it. Has he ever made it this far with the leaders in a marathon? I'm only sort of joking.

Mile 14: 4:57 (1:08:23)… Ritz is breaking this open with Tsegay the only guy going with him. … We heard from a friend of Ritz yesterday that he was going to "run his own race" and looks like that's what he's doing. Didn't go with the pack when they sped up and went by them when they slowed down.

Mile 15: 5:00 (1:13:24) … Ritz still leading, but the pack has caught up.

25K: 1:16:04

Mile 16: 4:42 (1:18:06) … Ritz still pushing at the front. Looking good.

Mile 17: 5:09 (1:23:30) … Ritz broke open a small gap on the field, but they reeled him back in. Worth noting that Ritz cut the tangents taking regular gatorade/water while the rest of the pack went a bit wider to get their own bottles.

Mile 18: 5:13 … Ritz swallowed up by the pack with Desisa out front pushing. Ritz fell off almost immediately. … Either they slowed down or Ritz sped up, because he's right back on the back of the pack. Tola out front.

30K: 1:31:58

Mile 19: 5:02 (1:33:44) … Meb and Ritz leading 1-2 side by side out front for a bit. GO USA! 10 men still in lead pack. … In the media room they noted the last 3 men to win Boston are still in the lead pack. On pace for 2:09:20.

Mile 20: 5:15 (1:39:01) … Ritz still leading now with Meb in 3rd. Ritz looks good. Meb dropping his arms like he's trying to loosen up a bit.

Mile 21: … Tsegay makes a move and Ritz looks to almost fall off, but now Ritz back on and Meb out front with a fist pump to the crowd. … Ritz took the lead for a bit, now Meb.

How hard is it for a director to get in Rawson's headphones and tell him to shut the F up? He's ruining one of the greatest US marathons ever. Does someone in the booth really think this is adding something to the drama?

Under 3 miles to go, the leaders are Dibaba, Deba and Caroline Rotich. Linden is fourth but about 20 meters behind. 5th is 20m behdin her.

Dibaba makes a big move, looked like Linden and three others were off the back. But then slows down and pack remains intact. Lead pack down to five.

Mile 23: 5:28 2:07:41 Chepkirui dropped, Kilel dropped. Cherop dropped.

Mile 24: Dibaba pushing again, it’s her, deba, rotich. Linden fourth

So the men are in 21 right now. The hilliest mile of the course.

Damn. When Dibaba lays it down, she breaks the pack instantly.

Maybe I'm not accustomed to American commentary but could you please tell me: Is the commentator not a major dickweed?
