Did Mike Rossi (viral marathon dad) cheat his way into Boston?

At this point I would even be fine with no public admission of guilt or an apology to the principal. If he just called the RD of both Via and Boston and voluntarily withdrew his results. He would save himself the embarrassment of announcing it publicly, but those who care for the sport would have the peace of mind knowing that another cheater had been humbled.

I think he was already humbled a bit when he met with the principal and school board and they denied his request to change the policy. From what I read on the school's FB page the principal had a huge turnout of teachers to support her against this idiot.

I don't know. I've never see anybody as delusional as him before. It's one thing to hide from public and keep telling yourself you deserved to run Boston. But to wear the jacket and hang the medal in his home where his wife and kids know he cheated....?

He seriously need some psychological treatment.

No I think that was a poor decision. I think he had his 15 minutes of fame. And right or wrong he now has well more than 15 minutes of infamy. To me the punishment of the mob has been administered. Mike Rossi is no Hector. But this thread is just dragging the vanquished around in circles.

We're actually be very civil compared to what happened to that principal. Mike is choosing to come onto this forum and the PhillyMag website and get blasted for his actions. We haven't encroached his privacy one bit so far.

If anything, he has encroached ours. We have the right to post our opinions and share those views with the Facebook pages of interested parties.We are doing this and it doesn't have to bother Mike Rossi one bit. But he decided to try and control the damage and to subject himself to all these comments.

But there is no controlling the damage. He hurt a nice lady for doing her job. He dashed the dreams of one person who may never get close to a BQ again. And he has jeopardized the integrity of a race.

And so far he hasn't been punished at all. Pete Rose has been punished for breaking the rules. Tom Brady has been punished for breaking the rules. Lance Armstrong has been punished for breaking the rules.

Mike Rossi has been rewarded two metals that he didn't deserve.

Are you seriously going to lecture us on the virtues of fairness?

I kept my kids out of school for 5 days to read this thread in its entirety. They learned more in those 5 days than they did in an entire year in school! They learned about statistics and probability, psychology, sociology, branding and marketing, photography, electronics in timing mats and gps devices, exercise physiology, and the geography of the Pennsylvania freeway system. They even learned about unicorn blood and its powers to make one invisible!

Some random people reportedly made death threats to the school principal who sent the unexcused absence form letter to Mike Rossi after his response went viral.

So, I'm not quite sure where the "death threats" reference is coming from but perhaps folks are just embellishing a bit to make is sound "better".

No, it wasn't okay, it was a dick move by a douchebag but you're doing the exact same thing as Mike. You can't just shrug it off and call it Karma. I would pretty much guarantee the principal would not agree with what you're doing.

And there are a lot of runners on here that do agree with what we are doing. And there are countless runners that agree with us but aren't willing to put in the effort themselves.

And you're right, the principal probably would not agree, because she didn't try and fight back when Rossi was attacking her in the press. Which is all the more reason for us to keep going. She stood there and took it and he just kept swinging away. Blow after blow after blow. He beat up on that woman and even when he realized he had gone too far all he did was offer a smug apology on his Facebook page and made no attempt to make it go viral like the letter.

It was too little and way too late. And he didn't want the praise to end. After all he is dad of the year, right?

Until....

We find out dad of the year didn't actually accomplish the goal that he was so proud of taking his kids to Boston for. This whole destruction of the principal was built on a lie. And now that people are trying to right what once went wrong you think it's all gone too far.

Call Principal Marbury of the Rydal Elementary School and ask her how she feels about what we are doing. Don't just assume she wouldn't like it. Call her and actually ask her. My guess is that she will be indifferent. Because she isn't getting revenge on Mike Rossi - it's the balance of the universe that is.
