Did Mike Rossi (viral marathon dad) cheat his way into Boston?

As many have noted, several of the posters who were very vocal early on in the thread has been very quiet lately. I wonder if it is because they were easily identifiable - registered names, public facebook posts, etc. and have been contacted. Even the anonymous guy who keeps repeatedly promoting his blog every other page has toned it down considerably and removed some things from the blog about Mike.

One telling thing to me is that there really haven't been that many responses on the race FB page either - less than 50.

For crying out loud, nobody is "being silenced". There is no possible way that there could be any legitimate risk to pointing out what a cheater and scumbag this guy is.

Now people can be getting bored and tired of the whole thing. But stop with the "I'm just giving some advice" horseshit.

Are you personally in touch with other folks posting? Are they your buds? So you run into them at lunch time at work or see them after work and ask "How goes? Haven't seen you posting lately. Why's that?"

There is no great "mystery" here. There is no reason to think that any poster would know what any other poster is up to. People get bored. People have other things going on in their lives.

No, it does not prove they run a tight race. There could be 25 cheaters per race. Catching a cheater depends on others actually putting the time into the research. Since there is no mid-race timing mats there are no immediately obvious red flags. The only reason anybody looked into Mike Rossi was because of his viral letter.

This race has been picked apart probably more than any marathon in history. Thousands of photos reviewed by several people many who have basically gone on the record to say Mike Rossi is the only runner without multiple photos during the race. Doubler has a website devoted to marathon cheats and in his spare time reviews marathon results to find anomalies that require more research. Do you think there it is reasonably possibility that others cheated at Via? I'm going to say the likelihood is no so basically you want to bully the RD and "flood their FB page" and beg for likes so you can ruin a race over one known cheater? Is that your end game, ruin the marathon at all costs?

Sara and Greg have never hidden who they were and both crave attention so much they have no problem posting their blog or facebook page here. It's my professional opinion that the people who protest the loudest are the ones who are most likely to be like Mike....not necessarily the cheating but everything else. Look at a particular FB page from one of the prolific posters here, there are plenty of public wars being waged and documenting every movement of their life because people give them "likes" so they must want more.

Seriously, just out of curiosity, what part of suggesting that there is no great "mystery" here and that folks on here do not know each other or why other posters are or are not active could possibly make you think that I must be Mike Rossi? That's truly bizarre.

I think the real test case here is a male in the 45-49 age group, whose Boston entry was denied based on time, suing Rossi for theft by fraud.

It would be fairly interesting, because I doubt very much Mike's attorney wouldn't even want him to be deposed, much less on the stand. The attorney would file a motion to dismiss, but if a judge denied it and let the case continue... very interesting.

I have no end game other than hoping that cheaters are disqualified.

Doubler's blog was created fairly recently and its purpose seems to be an archive of evidence for marathon cheaters since LRC tends to delete many threads without reason. It isn't like he dedicates his day to researching every marathon.

Do I think anybody else cheated in this marathon? Maybe. Likely not though due to the amount of research that has gone into this. But that doesn't mean there is only one cheater per year and it doesn't mean they run a tight race. Having zero timing mats between the start and finish means they are lazy. Not disqualifying Mike Rossi after all of this overwhelming evidence means they don't care.

I was part of the group that looked up all of the photos and proved Rossi wasn't on the course. I went to post last night from home and Letsrun had me blocked which is crazy. I'm assuming Rossi's lawyer is forcing Letsrun to block any poster who helped prove he cheated to get us off the boards.

I know you cheated Mike and you weren't on the course because the images prove it. You are what's wrong with the world and your lawyers should feel ashamed for protecting a scum bag like yourself.
