I'll believe it when I see it. Who said anyone outside of LRC will read it anyway. It's too late to be writing lengthy articles now, the flame went out a long time ago on this one. Given how blatant and egotistic this cheat was and no-DQ, he definitely gets the last laugh.

Numbskull - Where did I write that Mike Rossi DID pay off the race director and/or charity? Asking an unpopular question does not amount to libel/slander. If you think that charities are always infallible when it comes to moral high ground, then you are truly naive. They are run by human beings, just like you and me (and, again, I am NOT saying that Mike Rossi DID make a contribution to help ease his troubles).

Nah, I'm laughing my a$$ off every day to the exploits of Mike Rossi. This thread has been a great source of entertainment for me and many others for much of the past month. What a complete joke of a human being!

Since the Lehigh Valley Marathon is not concerned about integrity maybe they should be subjected to some runner "spam". You know, something like a denial of service attack by those upset with the lack of MRDQ.
Here my plan.
Several groups of 10 people sign up for the race and pick up their race number bib. Instead of all 10 people actually starting the race, only 1 really fast sherpa starts the race carrying his bib on the outside of his shirt and the other 9 underneath his shirt. The other 9 team members wait for him at the final relay handoff point. When the sherpa gets to the relay final spot, he gives the other 9 pranksters their bibs and everyone runs a fast 10k home. Wal-la, BQ's for everyone.
With my little prank the evidence would be the same as in the Mike Rossi situation, no photos but still chip times for all. This prank just illustrates Lehigh Marathon's terrible logic for the lack of MRDQ.
He probably doesn't even realize it yet, but he has completely destroyed his DJ, video and photography career. The company he works for probably has a bunch of bookings for the year, but nobody in the running or teaching industry is ever going to book his services. In about a year he is going to start to feel his bookings get very light.
My wife is friends with 3 school teachers and they all spread the word about him. If the owner of the DJ company was smart he'd cut his ties with Rossi now and publicly announce that he no longer works there.
Looking forward to you publishing your article! Guessing you're having others contribute/review, maybe including lawyers… Just so you know, if Mike files anything against you, I pledge $100 towards your defense and I'm sure a whole bunch of others will do the same.
Mike Rossi, maybe I only have 9 readers/followers on my blog, but not a single one of them thinks I'm a cheat, you have thousands of people who think you are a cheater! Hope that letter to the principal was worth it...

He knows we have his back if he ever got sued, which won't happen anyway since he's sticking to facts. The problem is that it's too late for articles now and LR won't come out and call him a cheat anyway. It's almost pointless right now, almost.

Yeah, it was funny, Bubba posted a reply my post, but either he deleted it or the moderator deleted it! He had me confused with someone else and looked/sounded like a complete fool!

I saw that. He thought you were me. And he just proved that he IS reading this thread because he quoted my post about nobody from the running or teacher community ever booking his DJ services again.
So that is 100% proof that he is here, so if anybody wants to send a direct message to Mike, now is your chance.

Obviously I have zero evidence to back this up, but would there be any way to find out? It's inconceivable to me that the race could have not DQ'd him based on the amount of evidence presented that he didn't run the race. It's also hard for me to believe that the race director is really stupid enough to take any threat Mike Rossi may have made to sue seriously.
It's obvious that the race manager is incompetent, but is it possible that she is also corrupt?
Very very unlikely, in my estimation.
No corruption is necessary to totally explain where we are. You can't fathom it b/c you are assigning our priorities, effort, and cahones to her. Bad assumption.
Just assuming some combination of 1) different priorities ("participation" and collecting entry fee $$ rather than passion about the integrity of the sport of running, and valuing honest achievement in the sport; 2) laziness (not reviewing as much as we did here); 3) cowardice - seemed easier to delay, then avoid the DQ rather than risk getting sued (also, notice she formed a committee to make a decision rather than just making an informed decision - Hal Higdon wouldn't have formed a freaking committee, or consulted a lawyer... neither did the RD of the NOrthville Solstice 10k when DQing Kip Litton after the fact).
You are assuming the RD reviewed all the evidence you reviewed. I'd doubt it. For one, she never cared enough before to put ANY sensible anti-cheating measures in place in her race.
It seems obvious that MR has been here and other places bragging about his "win". He singlehanded took 7-$10,000 a year out of a worthwhile charity's hands. That's about what the new controls that Lehigh has to put in place are going to cost . Here is a guy that bragged about a letter that he never even sent to the principal and got fame for that. Now he is happy about fighting a charity and costing them a good percentage of their fundraising because of that??
I hope he is happy with his wardrobe of purple and orange clothes with little unicorns on them. I personally think it is a better human being that helps the poor and unfortunate instead of take from them and look for fame.
And btw Lehigh I've supported Via over the years. Why are you throwing away this good money if he didn't cheat?
Pretty sure nobody has asked about this: What happened to the timing mat for the start of the half marathon? The full course goes right through the start of the half marathon and after looking at the half marathon results, it is obvious they used a timing mat as they have "Chip times". So what happened to the 1/2 split? Do tell me it is going to be 7-10k more to have additional timing mats when they could have had at least a 1/2 way accountability check! Did these yahoos start the 1/2 marathon and then quickly remove the timing mat so as to intentionally not capture the times of the full runners?
ah, looking closer at the map, looks like maybe the half marathon started on a side street and then worked over and on to the marathon course… Poor design when you could have easily/cheaply had a half split!
