For those of you who believe that he was not capable of a 3:11:
If his 4:00 Boston and 3:43 other time are legit, could he train starting now and get down to 3:20 by next VIA marathon?

Well Hello GregTR
WTF?
I seriously doubt it. 3:32 tops though I'd be surprised if he went under AN HONEST 3:40. Honest = someone from LRC running along side him.

I did a flyer for the upcoming Lehigh Valley Marathon. I thought everyone would enjoy.

yeah 30 comments from the same 15 lets run people who post under 59 handles apiece . wow , what a flood , somebody doesn't know how to do a rain dance.
There'd be 31 if I had a Facebook profile to post from. Fortunately for you, Mike, not all of us are as absorbed in promoting our awesomeness on social media as you are.
Saw this on the LVM FB page. Gold."Quick question. For those of us hoping to BQ, will there be shuttle buses to take us from the start to mile 20? Or do we have to drive ourselves?"

Haha, funny, nasty, but funny. Gotta have a bit of sympathy for the RD, she's stuck between a rock and hard place, but still, she should have DQ'ed him.

Yeah, there are several gems on their Facebook page. Too bad they'll probably be deleted soon. I love the Lehigh Valley Marathon flyer that another poster made as well.

I have zero respect or sympathy for the race director, especially if she was in charge of the marathon the year that Rossi ran it.
If an effort had actually been made by the organizers to have a rolling video camera and timing mats on the course, Rossi could have been DQ'd soon after the race and not been allowed to run Boston. Additionally, not DQing Rossi now, with all of the evidence that has been unearthed is a huge slap in the face to anyone who trains and races with integrity. As a fan of this sport, their decision is unforgiveable. Rossi would have never sued them and, even if he did, the marathon could have easily crowd-funded a defense without paying a dime of it out of their own pocket.
The Via Lehigh Valley Marathon is a joke and the race director is incompetent at best!!!

I think he could but I don't think he likes training enough to actually do it.

I've read every post, including the ones that are just a number, and this is the first time I remember seeing the thought of a folded bib and a specific other runner. I actually agree with you - why drag up allegations on another runner? - but it does look like the idea touched a nerve. It's clear that Mike is still reading along and chiming in on this board too (the Random capitalization is his tell). So I honestly thought you might be Mike. Sorry to waste your incredibly valuable time.
The question still ticking away for me is how/where Mike would've got the idea to do this.
I have a very analytical mind. So we have to think the way a cheater would think. So if we were going to cheat what would we have to do to make sure we didn't get caught?
First, we'd have to make sure nobody saw us. Th easiest way to do that is to not even begin the race. Check in, get the bib, give it to another runner who folds it and sticks it in his pocket. Mike Rossi drives away with hundreds of other people who are dropping runners off.
Then his accomplice throws the folded up bib into the wood at a predetermined area. I'm thinking Hill Rd. where it crosses the river. There are closed businesses close by where Rossi could park and run to the drop-ff point. Rossi hides in the bushes until his accomplices throws the bib is way. His need to hide would explain the all black apparel, which is completely out of his character compared to other races.
He unfolds the bib, pins it on, and keeps an eye out across the bridge until nobody is coming and just slips into the race undetected.
And again, the reason to go through all this is because Rossi would have no way to know for certain that there were no timing mats. Does any race every tell the runners how many and where they are on the course?
If I was Rossi this is how I'd do it. I wouldn't take the chance of having somebody see me leave the course or that the RD decided to add more timing mats this year.
You don't have an an analytical mind. Sorry. Make some master plan with someone who could blow you in? Please. We are talking about a hack cheat, not some evil genius. He's just not that smart and no way does his ego allow any other person to know he's a chat. Period.
The way to not get caught is to be inconspicuous. Start at the back. Wear a non remarkable outfit. No one is gonna think twice if he jumps in at the relay exchange or out of the bushes ("I had to pee"). This isn't the damn Bourne identity.
Up yours and your inability to spell "JIMMY" correctly you piece of cheating ass 3:11 10K horse manure. You got lawyers? I HAVE JUDGES. UP YOURS.

"Seriously" has made a lot of very valid and good points and it has made me reconsider my original position . Thie comments and behavior trashing MR , including my own , have gotten to the point where the rhetoric trying to "right the wrong" has now become worse than the initial wrong. It is no longer useful to continue this any longer , I refuse to let MR any longer take over my life . I refuse to have this issue dictate my free time . I decided to start over and look at all the information objectively and without malice or pre-conceived ides and I now believe it is possible he ran the entire race . 3:11 is definitely a possibility for a new runner to achieve , so I ask myself , why not MR ? He is no different than myself , a man can do anything if he puts his mind to it , and just because I may not like the man because of some letter he wrote and became famous for it , is no reason for myself to not believe he is capable of achieving a race time that seems a little out of his reach . After all , Via organization is all about individuals achieving success Over and above limitations with dedication and hard work , I think it is great that MR achieved his Personal Best at such a race and I congratulate him , and I believe that the RD decision to uphold MR's time is a good decision , based on information they discovered during their investigation . I am happy to say I am no longer emotionally attached to this issue . Thank You
And Mike Rossssssssi takes another victim. For the love of all that is holy and good, READ THE EFFING SIGNATURE. Jaysus, don't make me call in the f*ing cavalry.

I hate cheaters like MikeRossi wrote:If you were no longer emotionally attached to this issue you would not be posting comments on this thread. Based on the BS you typed before the above quote, it's more than likely your are Mike Rossi. Mike Rossi, you are a cheater and a scumbag, everyone in running knows it, and we will always remember you like Rosie Ruiz and Kip Litton.
The hosebeast is making small adustments in the spelling - capital "I" in MIKE: MIkeRossi vs. MikeRossi. He's left a digital footprint. This is narcissism in action. It'll come back to bite him in his fat ass.

Nobody other than Lets Run posters care about Mike Rossi's marathon time . We all look ridiculous with no lives as we continue to beat the dead horse. The only thing we will achieve now is to give some reality TV producer an idea to make Mike Rossi a reality TV star . Every reality show needs a villain , a pariah , someone that draws in viewers that people hate , so that they can generate millions of dollars in advertising . Do you think people watch the kardashians for educational value ? Do you think TMZ gives a crap about Kylie, Kendall , Kim, Bruce the weirdo or anything else ? Heck , The mom was married to murderer OJ's lawyer ! That doesn't stop them from 24/7 news cycle of that bunch of idiots does it ? But America tunes in because ya' can't not look at a car wreck . Mike Rossi will be the next reality tv star , the guy everyone loves to hate by the 9000th post on here . No , sorry folks , nobody's listening except yourselves !
I DID NOT POST THIS. SOMEBODY IS POSTING UNDER MY SCREEN NAME. HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE?

Don't worry. Nobody making any kind of money in the sport will miss us.
At all. All RDs want the Rosie Rossis in the world paying those entry fees.
I should cheat my annual turkey trot and then post my own cheating and see what happens. At this rate, nothing will happen. I do believe some race directors would actually do the right thing. Apparently not many though...
What I love about this part of the story is there are no "good guys" left and no satisfaction one is coming. It reminds me of Hamlet.
Rossi won.
